Employee Spotlight

The July/August employee spotlight is on Steve McFadden.

Steve first joined N-Jet in 1996 as a flight instructor
and quickly emerged as one of our most revered pilots.  In 1997, he became first officer on the Conquest and all King-Air aircraft before transitioning to
Citation II captain just two years later.

Steve has since been rated as captain in a number of aircraft including the Falcon 10, Falcon 50, Citation Encore + and Falcon 900EX Easy.  He is currently captain on the Citation Encore + and 900EX Easy.

This month marks Steve's 18th year of service, and his time has been our gain.  It's not every day you find a strong pilot with the perfect mix of professionalism, dependability, and charisma.

Thank-you for your commitment, Steve.  You continue to be a strong asset to both N-Jet and its customers, and we look forward to many years to come!

Cancer: You're Clear For Departure
This year, Team N-Jet was bigger and badder then ever. The team of 60+ runners ran their hearts out and reached their goal - raising over $20,000!

What a tremendous contribution to the Gateway for Cancer Research, who will use 99 cents of every dollar received to fund cancer research.

Thanks for helping us demand a cure!

Ghosts on a Plane

'Tis the season for ghost stories!  They even made a movie after this one...it's supposedly true and will make you think twice about being on an aircraft alone.

The Ghost of Eastern Airlines Flight 401

Eastern Air Lines Flight 401 crashed in the Florida Everglades on December 29, 1972, killing 101 of the 176 people on board. EA reportedly salvaged parts of the wrecked aircraft for use on other planes in its fleet, and passengers and crew members reported seeing the ghosts of captain Bob Loft and flight engineer Don Repo on outgoing flights.

During one of those overnight shifts in the summer, Jessica (a no-nonsense crew member) said she had boarded an L-1011 and began cleaning the aircraft along with the crew to which she was assigned. Upon entering the lower galley area of the aircraft, she noticed immediately that it was cold to the point of being nearly frigid. She couldn't figure out how in the world that could be considering this was Atlanta and in the middle of a summer night no less.

Jessica began cleaning the galley, as well as a cleaning of the ovens that she described in detail, though I don't remember it in exacting specifics. Upon glancing into the reflection of one of the galley oven glass doors, she saw the reflection of a person behind her in uniform. She looked over her shoulder, didn't see anyone, looked back into the glass, saw the reflection again, and, mildly paraphrasing, moved like lightning and bolted off to her crew lead.

Afraid the lead would think she was crazy, but not caring she asked him "What the (beep) was that?"  She told him what she had seen. "Oh yeah, that, you'll see that from time to time," he replied.
