Employee Spotlight
The May/June employee spotlight is on Tammy Nebel-Stanek.  Tammy has been working N-Jet's charter desk for six years now, but what many don't know is that her N-Jet (NIFC) experience dates back much farther than that!

In November of 1986, Tammy began flight school at NIFC.  Several months later, she was offered and accepted a job at the rental/checkout counter.  She worked there for the summer, then got her private pilot license and left for college.

In May of 1992, Tammy earned her degree in Aeronautical Management Technology and moved back to Chicago, where she was hired by ATA as a flight attendant.  She served that job until the airline closed its doors 15 years later.

Just five days later, Tammy visited LITH airport and NIFC.  "I figured I'd see what was happening in the world of general aviation," explained Tammy.  "I spoke to the woman at the counter (Lorri), gave her my resume, and was called a couple of days later. I was offered the job I have now, one that I never even knew existed!"

Tammy worked in the LITH charter office for two years, until her husband's work opportunities moved them to Palm Springs and eventually Long Island, where they've remained for the past three years.

Tammy's razor-sharp eye and an acute attention to detail are not only rare, but perfect for a position in charter!  For years, she's delighted and impressed our customers with her precision; she never misses a beat.

Thanks for all your hard work and dedication, Tammy!

It's a Bird!
Here at N-Jet, it's imperative that anything with wings be kept airworthy.

And that includes birds.

Several months ago, a hawk was injured by a ceiling fan in our hangar.  Thankfully, our big-hearted maintenance crew was able to rescue the injured bird and send him to recover at an animal sanctuary.
Recent Security Breach
Last month a competitor was allowed into our building, and then continued to roam around freely.  Thankfully, this intruder was more of a nuisance than a danger.  But next time, we may not be so lucky.

We need to make sure our space is always safe and secure.  Please be aware of N-Jet's policy and procedures for welcoming guests into the facility.
Just a Note: Setting the Thermostat
As another blazing hot Chicago summer kicks in, it's important to conserve energy.  We've noticed that our thermostat can be a little tricky, so here's some advice.  When making any adjustments, please remember to return the thermostat to AUTO mode.  This will prevent the heat from accidentally turning on in the summertime.
Team N-Jet is Back!
Team N-Jet is back in training for the 2014 Chicago Half Marathon.  For the third consecutive year, their efforts will help the Gateway for Cancer Research find better treatments and cures for cancer patients.

And this year's team has some big running shoes to fill.  Last year's total fundraising reached over $14,000, and they're determined to push $20,000 this time around!

Pics From Our Pilots
Pilots Chad Seedorf and Fernando Andrade took this one-of-kind shot just south of Greenland.  This photo was taken sometime between 1 and 2:00 am, but they were so far north that the sun never fully "set".  Shortly after, the sun began to rise again.
