Employee Spotlight
The November/December employee spotlight is on Lorri Borchardt.
As of this month, Lorri has been with us for nine years! Lorri is directly responsible for N-Jet's customer interface by serving as both receptionist and flight attendant.
Lorri has an amazing attention to detail and tireless work ethic, but it's her magnetic smile and sparkling personality that make all of N-Jet's customers, guests - and fellow employees - feel welcome and appreciated.
Thanks for all of your hard work, Lorri!

Saying Good-Bye
Last month, a cardinal member of our fleet was sold. The Falcon 10 (858SP) was originally purchased back in 1997 by Willow Creek Association, at which time it flew under the tail number 419WC.
The aircraft was N-Jet's first high-performance jet. It paved the way to greater opportunities for both its passengers and pilots, and watching it taxi away brought back many fond memories.

The First of Many Success Stories from the ASAP Program
Recently, N-Jet pilots Seedorf and Andrade utilized the ASAP program with an outstanding outcome.
They submitted reports to ASAP regarding a lacking speed restriction during a flight on October 3rd. An investigation into the reported circumstances revealed that ATC should have issued a speed restriction as part of their clearance, as there is no speed restriction published on the PWK 2 Departure. The chart will most likely be revised in the near future.
The event review committee (ERC) has closed the reports with no further action required, and a de-identified copy of their report may be used in training and a safety newsletter in order to prevent this type of issue from happening again.
This event is a textbook example of how effective the ASAP program will be in mitigating risk by identify and reducing possible flight safety concerns. Remember to complete an ASAP report if you recognize any significant safety concerns and issues; operational deficiencies; non-compliance with regulations; deviations from company policies and procedures; and unusual events.

IS-BAO and ARGUS Audit Underway
ARGUS auditors began visiting our facility yesterday to conduct an ARGUS International Platinum Standard onsite audit report.
As many of you know, IS-BAO is a code of best practices designed to help flight departments worldwide achieve a high level of safety and professionalism. At the core of IS-BAO and the ARGUS Platinum standard, lies the requirement for a comprehensive and effective aviation safety management system.

During their visits, the ARGUS auditors are conducting a single audit that combines both the IS-BAO and ARGUS standard. They assess areas of operations such as management, safety programs, flight operations, pilot records, pilot hiring/training, flight standards, crew scheduling, charter process, and security.
They also evaluate maintenance in areas of management, personnel, quality assurance, inspection program, training, control/planning, maintenance records, aircraft appearance, fuel/servicing, maintenance manuals, facilities/security, and stores/shelf life.
If the outcome of this audit is successful, we will continue to distinguish ourselves with an IS-BAO registration AND the highly valued Platinum rating.

Pics from Our Pilots
Chief Pilot Chad Seedorf shot this pic flying over New York City on a sunny day. It's quite difficult to see, but the Queen Mary II is in the port below. Have any photos that you'd like to share? We'd love to have them for upcoming issues! Please email them to The Monthly Dispatch and include the aircraft, location, and pilot's name. |
