Employee Newsletter

Greetings!

The heat of summer is slowly giving way to the gentle onset of fall.  Along with the seasons, The Monthly Dispatch is also evolving.  We've given it a clean new look and added some new features such as "Employee Spotlight".

In each issue, "Employee Spotlight" will highlight a different employee and his or her accomplishments.  We hope you enjoy the new look. And as always, if have any suggestions for upcoming issues, please let us know.  The Monthly Dispatch is designed just for you and we value your feedback!
In This Issue
Employee Spotlight

Frank Gross has been chosen as our first employee for the new "Employee Spotlight" feature of The Monthly Dispatch

Frank joined the N-Jet team in 2012.  During his first year of service, Frank exhibited exceptional leadership abilities and was recently promoted to Line Service Supervisor. He now oversees all fueling operations at 3CK for N-Jet.

Please also join us in congratulating Frank on the promotion!
ASAP Program is Live - "When in doubt, fill it out!"

N-Jet, in cooperation with the FAA, has established an Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP) for Flight Crew, Maintenance, Ground Crew, Cabin Crew, and Dispatch employees.  The N-Jet ASAP program provides a vehicle whereby you (employees) can identify and report safety issues to management and the FAA for resolution without the fear that the FAA will use the reports accepted under this program to take legal enforcement action against you or that the Company will use such information to take disciplinary action.

ASAP is a voluntary, self-reporting program designed to identify and reduce possible flight safety concerns. ASAP uses your input to identify significant safety concerns and issues; operational deficiencies; non-compliance with regulations; deviations from company policies and procedures; and unusual events. In partnership with all relevant departments and the FAA, each report is investigated and corrective actions determined based on a non-disciplinary approach to flight safety.

N-Jet and the FAA have developed the N-Jet ASAP system for the submission of incident and event reports by our Flight Crew, Maintenance, Ground Crew, Cabin Crew and Dispatch employees to identify safety and operational deficiencies within their respective departments that may have regulatory consequences.  These reports will be investigated and analyzed to identify hazards; determine appropriate safety and/or operational improvements; monitor the effectiveness of corrective actions, and proactively promote employee awareness of potential problems.

Please don't confuse ASAP with SMS safety reporting.  Reporting of company safety hazards and opportunities to improve should continue to be done through the SMS safety reporting forms found on the N-Jet website.  However, if there is any doubt about an incident or event having aviation regulatory safety implications, you should complete an ASAP report. "When in doubt, fill it out"!

To complete an ASAP report, log-in at http://njet-safety.wbat.org/. Be sure to save this URL so it can be easily accessed in the future.

Success!  Team N-Jet Raises Over $14,000 for The Gateway for Cancer Research
Flying Towards a Cure...for 13.1 Miles!
Thanks to everyone who supported Team N-Jet in their efforts to raise money for the Gateway for Cancer Research. To say it was a success is an understatement--together we raised over $14,000 to find better treatments and cures for today's cancer patients.

We also want to thank the runners for keeping up their end of the bargain. In a private jet, 13.1 miles may take mere seconds.  While running on the ground, it can take 2-3 hours! Despite the humidity and early morning start time, everyone made it through the finish line...some with a smile on their faces. Congratulations to everyone involved.  Let's do it again next year!
IS-BAO and ARGUS Audit Coming in November

IS-BAO Logo
In November, ARGUS auditors will be visiting our facility to conduct an ARGUS International Platinum Standard onsite audit report.

As many of you know, IS-BAO is a code of best practices designed to help flight departments worldwide achieve a high level of safety and professionalism. At the core of IS-BAO and the ARGUS Platinum standard, lies the requirement for a comprehensive and effective aviation safety management system.

The ARGUS auditors will conduct a single audit that combines both the IS-BAO and ARGUS standard. They will assess areas of operations such as management, safety programs, flight operations, pilot records, pilot hiring/training, flight standards, crew scheduling, charter process, and security.

They will also evaluate maintenance in areas of management, personnel, quality assurance, inspection program, training, control/planning, maintenance records, aircraft appearance, fuel/servicing, maintenance manuals, facilities/security, and stores/shelf life.

Please be prepared for this audit.  If the outcome is successful, we will continue to distinguish ourselves with an IS-BAO registration AND the highly valued Platinum rating.
Pics from Our Pilots

The changing seasons also create some beautiful scenery for our pilots and their passengers.

Pilot Steve McFadden captured this magnificent shot of the Falcon 900 at sunrise.

Have any photos that you'd like to share? We'd love to have them for upcoming issues! Please email them to The Monthly Dispatch and include the aircraft, location, and pilot's name.
Aviation History

On October 15, 1939, New York mayor Fiorello La Guardia dedicated an airport in Flushing bearing his name. La Guardia airport was the costliest to build at the time, $45 million.
