Greetings!
We hope you are enjoying the cooler weather, vibrant colors, and everything Fall has to bring. As a fun way to kick off the upcoming holidays, we want to ask, "What are you thankful for"? Please email your responses to erikaw@nifc.com, and feel free to be sincere, creative, or just plain humorous with your answers. If we receive enough responses, they will be shared in next month's Thanksgiving issue. |
N-Jet is Officially Enrolled in FAA's Aviation Safety Action Program
On October 9th, N-Jet was officially enrolled in the Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA) Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP). We are one of only two charter operators in the Great Lakes Region chosen to participate.
"I would like to personally thank the FAA Dupage CHDO and the Air Charter Safety Foundation (ACSF) for selecting N-Jet as a participant in the Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP)", said Howard Seedorf. "We are honored to be one of the first air charter operators chosen for enrollment. I believe this program will provide N-Jet and others with critical safety feedback that would have otherwise gone unreported. Most importantly, it will enhance the safety of our stakeholders including passengers and crews by creating a more robust safety management system. We should all look forward to the implementation of the ASAP program and the opportunity to work with the FAA and ACSF."
The ASAP program was initiated by the FAA and the Air Charter Safety Foundation (ACSF) to encourage a culture of safety and development of safety reporting and monitoring systems. An ASAP is a reporting program that enables repair station certificate holders and employees of participating air carriers to identify and report safety issues to management and the FAA without fear that the reports will be used against them legally by the FAA, or for disciplinary action by employers.

N-Jet Pilot Clinches Ironman Competition
You might say that N-Jet pilot Tony Stolarczyk is a master of the air, land and sea. When he's not flying as Captain of the Citation Excel, he's challenging his mind and body through swimming, biking and running.
On September 9th, he completed the Ironman Wisconsin triathlon in Madison. The race began with a 2.4 mile swim, followed by a 112 mile bike ride through Wisconsin's hilly terrain, and concluded with a 26.2 marathon run.
When asked what motivated him to enter such an extreme event, Stolarczyk joked that it was the free t-shirt at the end.
"No, actually it was the physical challenge and seeing how much further I can push myself," he explained. "I started doing triathlons years ago and the Ironman series are kind of the creme-de-la-creme of the triathlon world".
In his athletic career, Stolarczyk has completed several triathlons, including a half-Ironman in Racine, WI. He's also run many 5, 10, and 15K's, half-marathons, and the Chicago Marathon.
He began his training program ten months before the event, working out six days a week, for up to four hours at a time. Some days he would bike up up to 100 miles, which took even longer.
Such a dedicated training schedule paid off. As he progressed through the race, he made all of his cutoff times. Despite getting kicked in the face several times during the swim, severe leg cramps, stabbing knee pain, and overwhelming, repetitive bike hill climbs, Stolarczyk still recalls the day as rewarding and a lot of fun. In fact, he'd do it again.
"As long as I stay relatively pain free, I am planning Louisville Ironman next year," said Stolarczyk. "I want that free T-shirt".

Staff Updates
Congratulations to Tom Moretti, who was promoted to head of line service last month.
We'd like to also congratulate Brad Comm, N-Jet's VP of Finance, for recently becoming a Certified Management Accountant (CMA). Such an accomplishment requires two years of management accounting experience and a comprehensive exam on accounting and related subjects.
In order to achieve this title, Brad had to demonstrate proficiency in many facets of accounting and financial management. His ability to master these fields makes him a valuable member of the N-Jet staff.
