Election of Directors - Process
2nd Notice
This is the official notice of the process in place for the nomination of directors for the Tonto Verde Golf Club, Inc. Board of Directors. As required by the bylaws section 8.01, a Nominating committee of five people has been approved by the Board. Mike Morehouse will chair this committee again this year and members include Jerri Dann, Marianne Johnson, Farrell Odom and Judy Sevier.
There are three vacancies created by expiring terms. If you wish to run for a Board position, please contact Mike at mikemorehouse@hotmail.com. Preference will be given to candidates who have served on the Board, committees, and task forces or in leadership positions with TVGC golf associations. The list of nominees will be posted in the golf shop by February 12th and ballots will be sent in early March.

From The MGA
Match Play
is winding up and the flight winners will be announced on January 29th. As you read this, our 48 man Verdes Cup team is preparing to play Rio Verde on Wednesday, January 27th. Let's get back on the winning track.
Our next Dinner Meeting is February 3rd, Click Here to sign-up on the "Golf Events" tab on the website. We will be spending the first 15 minutes of our golf event "fixing divots" that have not been repaired on the Ranch course. I would encourage you to remember to fix your divots in the fairway and ball marks on the greens. Also, remind your playing partners to fix their divots, it may take you filling several of your partners divots for him or her to get the idea that they need to be fixed. We can enhance the beauty of our courses by taking care of them ourselves. We can't control the outside players, but we can control how we treat our beautiful golf courses.
The Desert Classic has 44 teams signed up, there is room for 16 more.
Spring Best Ball starts on February 10th and our One-Day Member-Guest is February 15th. You can Click Here to sign-up for either event or the Member/Member featured below.
The Member/Member "Pick a Pal" event is February 22 & 24. We have 60 two-man teams signed up and we have both golf courses for our afternoon shotguns, so get signed up on the website. We have two divisions, flighted and there will be lots of flight winners. We will have a dinner and awards on the 24th following our second round.
Don't forget to post your scores as soon as you finish your round and remember the Pro Shop has teaching pros who can help you sharpen up your game with a lesson.

From The WGA
The WGA Interclub teams were busy in January, and finally started playing in some better weather. Cactus played a very difficult DC Ranch team and lost those matches. Sonoran played Rio Verde and came out on top of both those matches. Roadrunner ran into some very stiff competition at Superstition Mountain; Pebble Creek had an average score of 75 for their 4 teams! Sonoran took 3rd net and 6th gross that day.
The Rio-Tonto Mixer on January 19th was a great time for all who participated.

"It'll be here before you know it." The 2016 Hohokam Invitational event is scheduled to begin with practice rounds on March 13-15 and tournament rounds on March 16-17. Click Here sign-up on ForeTees.
Our next WGA brunch and Meeting is scheduled for February 9th at 10:30 a.m. If you can't make the brunch, you can still attend the WGA meeting that follows at around 10:50 a.m. The clubhouse will appreciate early sign-ups for the brunch so they can have enough food for everyone. A regular game day event will follow the meeting at 12:00 p.m.

The next Friday Night Couples event will be on Jan. 22 at 3:00. Always a fun format, very casual and social , with dinner following off the menu. You can bring guests and you may sign up with another couple or the Golf Shop will pair you.

From The NDA
The NDA is having its annual Couples Night Event on February 18th. The theme is "House of Cards". There is a shotgun start at 2:30 on the Peaks Course. Dinner and Casino Games to follow. Click Here to sign up and bring your "poker face"!
