The Board met at its regularly scheduled time on Thursday, June 4th, by conference call.  The following is a summary of key items discussed.

Cart Barn - This project is scheduled to begin in June with a completion date of September.  Jeff is investigating a variety of electric cart vendors and options available.   The plan is to be operational in October.

Golf Calendar - The final golf calendar for 2015-16 was approved by the Board.  It can be found on the Golf Home Page.

Sprinkler Heads - The Green Committee recommended that we purchase an additional 100 sprinkler heads to be used around the greens.  About one half of the heads have already be replaced and the remaining heads are old technology.  Our staff will do the installation.  We received a quantity purchase discount based on our current irrigation project that made this transaction attractive.  Approved.

LED Lighting - The TVA is currently reviewing a LED lighting proposal for the clubhouse.  They appropriately included the Golf Club in an analysis of LED bulbs and fixtures for the maintenance facility.  While there are some longer term financial benefits, the Board believes this expenditure to be a "nice to have", not a "need to have".  Unanimously declined.

Champions Plan Cap - This membership classification was designed with a 5% cap of full dues paying members.  As such the cap will be raised to 16 for the 2015-16 fiscal year. Approved.

The TVGC and the TVA would like to sincerely thank Jan Hamann for her contributions to our website's Blog.  Jan has written several wonderful articles for our Golf Club and Community.  These have been posted to our website's Blog page and are also sent to the Fountain Hills Times for potential publication.  The most recent story published in the Fountain Hills Times about Jeff and Donnie Ostlund was a direct result of Jan's article written for our Blog.  The Fountain Hills Times also follows our Blog and farms stories from there.  We truly appreciate Jan's creative contributions and hope she will continue to provide great news articles for the Tonto Verde Blog.

MGA REMINDER

As you are all enjoying summer whether it is in Tonto Verde or at one of the many far-flung getaways that we disappear to, there are two events that you should start thinking about:  MEN'S GUEST DAY, Monday, February 15, 2016 and THE DESERT CLASSIC, APRIL 6-9, 2016.  Begin lining up your guests for both events.  We will have earlier sign-ups this upcoming season and you will want to insure that you have a spot in the field.

Enjoy the upcoming US Open at Chamber's Bay in Tacoma, WA.  Be looking for Bob and Anne Buhler marshaling on hole #16 and Pat and Marilyn Echelbarger on hole #15 on Friday and Sunday afternoons.  We will be the marshals with the nice tans from Arizona.
