News from the December 6th Board Meeting:

The North Range Task Force is continuing to evaluate options, while working with both staff and affected homeowners.  It is expected that whatever changes are finally approved, the work will not be undertaken before next summer.

In an effort to better enable the board to utilize its committees in the operation of the TVGC without a general manager, Scott Thiss presented a new Organization Chart, Committee Structure and Committee responsibilities Documents.  This is the culmination of work started in the spring.  All were approved by the board and can soon be viewed on the TontoVerde.org website.  Scott reported that we now have 45 members involved in our committees.  We encourage all our members to learn more about the TVGC committees and their activities to find areas where you too can support the club.

The Finance Committee will be meeting to discuss options to reduce TVGC's Arizona Income Tax exposure from 2011-12 and in the future.

We all know about the rental program here in the Verdes, but DID YOU KNOW that we also have a temporary membership program at the Tonto Verde Golf Club? The combination is a great way for those with an interest in Tonto Verde to fully sample the wonderful lifestyle we enjoy. By the way, one need not be a renter at the Verdes to take advantage of this program. Meaning, those living in the valley can avail themselves of this program as well.

This temporary membership provides full access to the Golf Club. At the conclusion of temporary membership, they have an opportunity to use a large portion of their fees to be applied toward a permanent status of membership.

Last Season the Golf Committee Established a Hole-in -One Policy which was approved by the Golf Club Board of Directors. With in that policy it states "When the player arrives in the bar/grill area of the clubhouse, food and beverage management personnel will announce and recognize the person making the hole-in-one and one complimentary beverage will be available to each person in attendance for a two hour duration." The Hole in one policy is fully stated in the "Golfers Guide" recently distributed by the Golf Committee. We ask you to abide by this rule and not pressure Food and Beverage Employees to extend the time frame for complimentary beverages.

Tonto Verde Golf Club Board of Directors

The TVA has employed a Search Engine Optimization (SEO) company to help us raise our visibility on the web. This will help Tonto Verde attract people who are searching the web for places to retire.

When doing an internet search (through Google, Bing, etc), did you know that:

• The number of times people access a website raises that website on the list
• Specific key words that are used on pages associated with that website raises that website on the list
• The current updates and information puts the website higher on the list

We need to keep our website "hot" and filled with positive, current, interesting, and diverse information about Tonto Verde, our community, activities and surroundings. One of the ways we do this is through the "BLOG" spot on our website.

We're looking for volunteers to write blogs for the website. We'll provide you with guidelines about blogging, and topics (if you don't have enough of your own), but generally, we need you to just share an experience, event, or observations about TV and the area. It helps people looking for an "Active Adult Community" on the web to learn just how active and wonderful this community is.
