The 2016 MassCommute Bicycle Challenge (MCBC) is May 14-22
The MCBC is an annual event, hosted by the twelve TMAs of MassCommute, that promotes cycling as a healthy, affordable, eco-friendly and fun transportation choice. Simply log all of the miles you ride on the MCBC website and enjoy some friendly competition between local businesses, universities and communities throughout Massachusetts. Last year, Massachusetts residents and employees logged a grand total of 146,001 miles during the Challenge- REGISTER TODAY so we can break that record! The first 50 people to register will receive a FREE legendary MCBC t-shirt.
We'll be hosting daily FREE breakfasts for anyone biking to work during Bike Week- check our calendar to find out where we'll be each day!
**Save the date for the Bike Bash on June 1st, where the 2016 MCBC winners will be announced and celebrated with food, drink, and raffle prizes!**

The MVTMA more than doubled our participation in the ECO Awards this year, with a total of 13 member companies receiving recognition at the event. Andrea Leary, MVTMA Executive Director was especially proud: "I'm excited and gratified by the response to this year's ECO recognition. These companies aren't just making the Merrimack Valley a better place to commute, they're making employees happier and healthier and our local economy stronger as a result".
Congratulations to our 2016 ECO Award winners! Leader Awards:
Philips, VICOR, Putnam, HP Enterprise, Schneider Electric, MKS Corporation, Smith & Nephew, Eisai Research Institute.
Pacesetter Awards:

Spring Roundtables Focus on Transportation & Economic Development in Andover
|
In March and April, the Merrimack Valley TMA hosted two round table events with Andover Town Manager Andrew Flanagan and Planning Director Paul Materazzo to bring local businesses together for discussions on transportation, economy, and development. This spring's topic was "Transportation & Economic Development - What does your company need to stay and grow in Andover?"
Four people who shaped the conversations are pictured at left: Tom Chretien of Philips, Andrew Flanagan & Paul Materazzo of the Town of Andover, and Ed Mueskes of Schneider Electric. |
