2016 ECO Awards: Congratulations to our members!
On March 22nd, the North Shore TMA staff joined some of its members and many other extraordinary Massachusetts employers at Fenway Park for the 6th Annual Excellence in Commuter Options (ECO) Awards. The Awards celebrated the great work our members do to promote alternative transportation and shared commuting options for their employees.
Congratulations to Cell Signaling Technology, Eastern Bank, Axcelis Technologies, the City of Beverly, Cummings Properties, Footprint Power, the City of Salem and Salem State University for earning special recognition at the Awards.
At the Ceremony, Peter Muto, Facilities Director from Cell Signaling Technology spoke about the company's Alternative Transportation Program, which they began in 2012.
Additionally, Eastern Bank was awarded with a Spotlight Award for Innovation for their implementation of the North Shore TMA's Commute Another Way program. Eighteen of Eastern Bank's Lynn Regional Office employees commuted via an alternative to driving alone during the eight-week program.  There is also a great article about the North Shore TMA and our members' accomplishments in the Salem News!
"In 2012, Cell Signaling Technology started the Alternative Transportation Program to promote and reward our employees who make a commitment to commute to work by carpooling, cycling, walking and/or public transportation. With the help of our IT department, we developed a section on our Intranet where employees can log their trips on a daily or weekly basis. For their effort, the participating employees accrue points that can be redeemed for gift cards and "Green Days", which are bonus days off from work."
- Peter Muto, Facilities Director, Cell Signaling Technology, Inc.
Commute Another Way: Coming to Axcelis
From April 18th to May 13th, the North Shore TMA will be promoting its award winning Commute Another Way program at Axcelis Technologies in Beverly. During this time, Axcelis employees will be encouraged to carpool, bike and/or walk to/from work and earn special incentives for their participation. "We are hoping this program will prove to be as successful at Axcelis as it was at Eastern Bank," noted NSTMA Executive Director Andrea Leary.
