The North Shore TMA Newsletter
September - October 2015
From September 20th-27th, the North Shore TMA partnered with MassDOT, MassCommute and MassRIDES to promote the Massachusetts Clean Air Challenge, a weeklong effort to encourage green commuting (e.g., biking, walking, carpooling, vanpooling or taking public transportation) to/from work. During the week, many prizes were given out throughout the Commonwealth. The NSTMA also awarded a $100 Amazon gift card to Wes Slate from the City of Beverly. Congratulations, Wes!
Commute Another Way: Special Program for Eastern Bank
The NSTMA is currently working with Eastern Bank to help them try new commuting options (and help resolve their parking issues in the process). Over the next several months, we'll be rolling out a special incentive program for Eastern Bank called Commute Another Way. Employees will be further incentivized to try "green" ways of getting to/from work, including carpooling, taking public transportation and working at other bank locations.

MBTA and Keolis announce plans to enhance service on the commuter rail
In late August, Governor Baker's appointed Fiscal and Management Control Board endorsed the MBTA's and Keolis' short-term plan to improve service for thousands of commuter rail passengers. The plan includes measures to ensure better customer service and on-time performance. It also includes an improved winter resiliency plan.
Update on the Route 107 Corridor Study

The Route 107 Corridor study has been progressing successfully over the past few months. The study was recently expanded to include Route 107 from Chestnut Street in Lynn to Boston Street in Salem. The study's Working Group on which NSTMA Executive Director Andrea Leary sits advocated for the expansion. "Adding these intersections to the study will help define solutions to improve the flow of traffic and enhance mobility within the corridor", said Leary.
