New Resources Catalogue and Real Dirt on Farming Displays
Looking for posters and activities to use at an upcoming event? Check out Farm & Food Care Ontario's updated Resource Catalogue and five commodity-specific The Real Dirt on Farming displays.

Based on The Real Dirt on Farming booklet, each display focuses on a specific type of farming - dairy, beef, grain, pig and egg. They are perfect for county or district associations hosting exhibits at fairs, schools and other events, helping you provide the facts to non-farmers. More displays will be developed in 2016.

These displays and many other Farm & Food Care Ontario resource materials are available through the online Full Resource Catalogue.

Host farm needed for Breakfast on the Farm 2016
Farm & Food Care Ontario is looking for a farm to host next year's Breakfast on the Farm event.

Breakfast on the Farm provides a unique opportunity for farmers and non-farming Ontarians to have a conversation about food and farming. It gives Ontarians the chance to visit a real, working farm. It also provides a showcase for agriculture and gives non-farmers the opportunity to meet real farmers and members of the agri-food industry.

Those interested in this project can contact Sue McLarty for more information: sue@farmfoodcare.org.

Further information and a host-farm application form will soon be available through the  Farm & Food Care Ontario website.
Speakers' Bureau Presentation Skills workshop series
Farm & Food Care Ontario's Speakers' Bureau Workshop series is coming to Southwestern and Eastern Ontario in the Winter and Spring of 2016.

For farmers and agribusiness people alike, the Speakers' Bureau series of workshops is designed to encourage those involved in agriculture to tell THEIR stories - what they do and why they do it - to non-farming audiences.

More winter and spring sessions have been planned for Southern and Eastern Ontario. They are as follows:
Space is limited to the first 25 participants. The $50 cost includes lunch and all workshop materials.

Give The Real Dirt on Farming for Giving Tuesday
December 1 is "Giving Tuesday" and you can participate by donating to helping distribute The Real Dirt on Farming booklet.

Funding will help provide Canadians with credible information on how their food is grown. Our country has a population of about 35 million, but less than 730,000 are farmers. This has led to a huge disconnect between the farm and dinner plates. The Real Dirt on Farming booklet is designed to connect Canadians with the food they eat and introduce them to some of Canada's farm families.

With your support, we can distribute the Real Dirt booklet even further, helping Canadians make informed choices about the food they eat. Donate here.
    Tracey Firth Memorial Fund
Tracey Firth, Programs Director with the Canadian Animal Health Institute, was a passionate supporter of Canadian agriculture and in particular the animal health sector. She died
    Tracey Firth
    suddenly on November 8
th, 2015 leaving an extreme void in the hearts of many.

Tracey was a quiet and intense individual providing support for those she worked and lived with. She was known for her ability to communicate tough agricultural issues such as hormone and antibiotic use in a consumer friendly manner.  Her legacy to the animal health industry though will be her leadership in the area of animal health product stewardship. In a global first, she designed and implemented a program for the animal health industry to collect and safely dispose of unwanted product in field.

Donations in memory of Tracey and her commitment to agriculture and the people in it can be made to Farm & Food Care Canada.

Donate online here. Select "Tracey Firth Memorial Fund" in the pull down fund menu. Click here for a mail in donor form.
