Latest Webinar

Pope Francis seems to embody two attributes associated with St. Francis of Assisi: care for the poor and love of creation. The earth is our common home. We are just beginning to awaken to this truth. Will we see creation as a precious gift that has been entrusted to us or will we see it as a "resource" to be used and exploited?

In this webinar, Center Advisor Dr. Don McCrabb explores Care for our Common Home and its implications for our lives as Catholic Christians living in the United States of America.

What is All Souls Day?
by Christine Berg

"On November 2nd of each year, Catholics observe The Commemoration of All the Faithful Departed, also known as All Souls Day.  We are encouraged to pray for the dead and to remember our loved ones who have gone before us.  Our prayers for these souls assist in expediting the 'process of purification.' The Church recognizes that few people achieve perfection in this life (after all, we are human!), and therefore, go to the grave with remaining traces of sinfulness; a period of purification is necessary to prepare the soul to join God."

Just 24% of Catholics in the U.S. say they attend Mass at least once a week - down by almost half since 1974*

We are working to answer God's call to revive faith throughout the United States and around the world. Now more than ever, our programs and partnerships that seek to energize the New Evangelization need your support. Help us answer the call today by making a financial contribution to our ministry.

Feast Day: All Souls Day

Feast Day: November 2

The Church has encouraged prayer for the dead from the earliest times as an act of Christian charity. Since few people achieve perfection in this life but some period of purification seems necessary before a soul comes face-to-face with God. The Council of Trent affirmed this purgatory state and insisted that the prayers of the living can speed the process of purification. -excerpts from American Catholic
