Catholic Apostolate Center Newsletter
Greetings!
Although the recent World Bishops Synod on the New Evangelization may have concluded yesterday in Rome, the work continues for each of us as we carry forward into this Year of Faith. As has been expressed throughout the Synod, this work that we carry is the work of the New Evangelization. In their closing "Message to the People of God", the Synod fathers said the following:
"Leading the men and women of our time to Jesus, to the encounter with him is a necessity that touches all the regions of the world, those of the old and those of the recent evangelization. Everywhere indeed we feel the need to revive a faith that risks eclipse in cultural contexts that hinders its taking root in persons and its presence in society, the clarity of its content and its coherent fruits."
This is no easy task but one that will be ongoing in our daily lives. Here at the Catholic Apostolate Center, we continually work to find, share and create the best resources to help all of us in our pursuit of an effective new evangelization and thus becoming well formed apostles.
Only when we strive towards this goal can we have an evangelization that is, in the words of Blessed John Paul II, "new in its ardor, in its methods, in its expressions" (John Paul II, Discourse to the XIX Assembly of CELAM, Port-au-Prince, 9 March 1983, n. 3). As we work towards this New Evangelization know that our prayers are with you!
Ad Infinitum Dei Gloriam - For the Infinite Glory of God!
