Memorial Garden Renovation
|
Thank you for your generosity!
|
Thank you, thank you to all who have generously given to the Memorial Garden Renovation project. We have reached our goal of designated gifts of $25,000. If you would still like to contribute to the maintenance and upkeep of the renovated garden, you may do so. Checks can be made out to "Christ Episcopal Church" and write "Memorial Garden" on the memo line.
We are truly blessed by such a loving, giving and supportive congregation. Thank you again! |
Pictorial Directory Update
|
Sunday, March 20, 2016 at 11:00 a.m.
|
We would like to update our pictorial directory from 2014. If you are new to Christ Church, or if you did not have an opportunity to have your family's picture in the last directory, Sally Turner Querin will be available March 20, 2016, immediately after the 10:00 service to take pictures in the Parish Hall. We will also have another Sunday after Easter available for picture taking. Thank you for your help in updating our church directory.

Lunch Bunch will be on Saturday, March 19th.
The Christ Church Valdosta Lunch Bunch feeds 120 or more hungry children every first and third Saturday of the month. Workers from the church as well as other members of the community who volunteer gather at 11 a.m. at Christ Church to make peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. They pack them in plastic bags, then brown paper bags with logo stickers together with chips, fruit, juice and other healthy goodies purchased from the Second Harvest Food Bank.
Please join us, on any 1st or 3rd Saturday.

April 8 at the Cotton Corner
|
The "GO Team" needs help from the "Home Team." The eight missioners who are going to the DR as the Christ Church Mission Team have adopted a project to screen the open air dining hall at the Episcopal camp to help protect visitors from mosquito-borne diseases. The cost is $3,750. We hope to use some of the auction funds to help us pay for the supplies we need. We will also have options to sponsor a child in the local Episcopal school we helped build.
Tickets for the April 8, Dominican Republic Dinner and Auction are available from Jeani Synyard, Marilyn Miller, Julia Ariail and Kim Dudley in the church office at $25 each. The event will be catered by Covingtons and held at the Cotton Corner at 101 N. Ashley Street from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Because of space limitations, only 104 tickets will be sold. Buy your tickets early as no tickets are sold at the door. The live auction will feature several weekend beach retreats, a barbecue dinner for 75, an antique caned rocking chair, a hand carved seven-piece nativity set, an antique doll house with furniture and many more interesting items. The silent auction has a juggling performance by our own Joel Williams at your party or event, 3 hand knit shawls and scarves, two silver and larimar crosses custom made in the DR, a handmade wooden bowl by Dr. Dave Richards, a Panamanian mola fabric, and a casserole, salad and dessert every month for a year, plus much more. An online catalog of the items will be available next Friday. It is going to be a fun party and benefit the mission work by members of our church and scholarships to the DR school. Fr. Dave Johnson and senior warden Dr. Bill Querin, both veterans of DR mission trips, will speak at the event. For photos from last year's event, click here.
