Lunch Bunch is will be on Saturday, February 6th.
The Christ Church Valdosta Lunch Bunch feeds 120 or more hungry children every first and third Saturday of the month. Workers from the church as well as other members of the community who volunteer gather at 11 a.m. at Christ Church to make peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. They pack them in plastic bags, then brown paper bags with logo stickers together with chips, fruit, juice and other healthy goodies purchased from the Second Harvest Food Bank.
Please join us, on any 1st or 3rd Saturday.

Our annual mission trip to the Diocese of the Dominican Republic is scheduled from May 9-16, 2016, and the target date to join the team is January 31. If you have been thinking about joining this year's team, please contact Julia or Julius Ariail (229 559-7329) before that date. If you haven't yet considered joining this adventure, please c lick here for the trip's planning webpage for lots of information.
That planning information now includes a new travel alert by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) about the presence of the mosquito-borne Zika virus in the Dominican Republic as well as many other areas in the Caribbean and South and Central America. Everyone taking part in this trip should be aware of the health implications of the Zika virus and the precautions needed to minimize exposure to mosquitos while in the Dominican Republic. Julia and Julius will be in the Dominican Republic from February 9-22, 2016, and during part of that time they will be at our mission work site in El Pedregal planning our 2016 work projects with the clergy and lay leaders of the Episcopal congregation there. It would be most helpful to know the number of our team members and their project interests before those planning meetings take place in February.
April 8: Save The Date for our annual DR Night Auction and Dinner to raise funds for our 2016 projects and scholarships at the K-8 Episcopal school in El Pedregal, our mission field.

A Cursillo weekend will be held at Honey Creek February 25-28. Several of our own church members will be participating. Wednesday Evening Lenten Dinner Series "Grace and the Ten Commandments" will run February 17 through March 16, 6:30-7:45. Covering two commandments per week we'll explore how the Gospel intersects with the Ten Commandments and how that applies to our daily lives.

Karen May will take all interested K-5th graders for the first 15 minutes of Sunday School during lent (beginning February 14) and teach them two classic children's Easter songs. - Friday, March 11, 2016 from 6-9 p.m. Snacks and Fun at Rectory
- Saturday, March 12, 2016 beginning at 9 a.m. with light breakfast and coffee. We will have lunch and end with Eucharist at 3 p.m.

A Parish Retreat has been planned for Friday, April 22 - Sunday, April 24, 2016. The Retreat will be held at Honey Creek.
- Lodge rooms are $178 for weekend,
- Meal plan is $63 per person (8 and over) for 3 meals on Saturday and 2 meals on Sunday.
