Christ Church will be joining other churches in the Diocese of Georgia this Advent in reading former Archbishop of Canterbury Rowan Williams' book Being Christian. Christ Church will offer a Sunday school class in the Office Building the four Sundays of Advent to discuss the following topics from this book:
December 13 Eucharist - Dr. Sheri Gravett
December 20 Prayer - The Rev. Dcn. Patricia Marks (ret.)
Williams writes "the book looks at what these activities tell us about the essence of Christian life and what kind of people we might hope to become in the community where these things are done."

Christmas Week Services; Children's Christmas Pageant will be presented next Sunday, December 20th as part of the 10:00 service. A Lessons and Carols service will also be held next Sunday, December 20th at 6:00 p.m. Christmas Eve Services will be held at 5:30 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. music begins at 10:30 p.m. Christmas Day Service will begin at 10:00 a.m.

Elections to be held January 3, 2016

We have eight candidates for the position of Vestry 2018. Each candidate has been asked to answer a few questions and submitted a photo. This information once received will be posted on the bulletin board in the parish hall.
Nominees are: Jeana Beeland, John Bennett, Stephanie Blevins, Tammy Borders, Sandra Fletcher, Duke Guthrie, Millie Johnson, and Molly Stevenson.
Vestry Elections will be held on January 3, 2016 during the Annual Parish meeting to be held immediately following the 10:00 a.m. worship service. |

Father Dave's Sermon Books

| Father Dave's sermon books will be available for purchase during coffee hour after church on Dec. 13 -- after that book purchases can be made in the church office, with all proceeds going toward the 2016 youth mission trip. The cost of each book is $10. |

Children's Christmas Party

All children (Pre-k3-5th grade) are invited to join us for a Children's Christmas party on December 19 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Education Building. Our kids will enjoy decorating cookies, playing games, making a Christmas ornament, observing a Christmas science experiment and, of course, hearing the Christmas story! Those children who will be participating in the Christmas pageant on December 20 will choose costumes and practice, as well. To volunteer or to RSVP, contact Stefani Carroll.

Creche to benefit DR Mission Trip

S. J. Denmark has crafted a beautiful seven-piece wooden creche that will be sold to benefit the Dominican Mission trip scheduled for May. The creche will be displayed this Sunday at the coffee hour in the Parish Hall. This set will be an heirloom in someone's family. The price is $750. Surprise someone special with this timely Christmas gift. If it is not sold before Christmas, we will offer it at the live auction at the DR Night Dinner in April. Your generosity will change someone's life in El Pedregal.
