Sunday, November 1, 2015
As you know, we are in the midst of stewardship season here at Christ Church.  Thanks to those of you who have already submitted your pledge!  Pledge cards will be mailed out and are also available in the tower, parish hall and office here at Christ Church.  Your pledges play a vital role in the life and ministry of Christ Church.  If you are pledging we would be most appreciative if you could turn in your pledge cards by November 1 for budget planning purposes-thanks so much!

Lunch Bunch
Saturday, October 3, 2015 at 11:00 a.m.
Lunch Bunch is this Saturday, October 3rd.

This is a lunch bunch ministry to children on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays who live in the HUD projects (60-90) or Ora Lee West (30). We make bag lunches for an hour then deliver.
We always need help.

It is a one hour commitment either making sandwiches, stuffing bags, delivering, or all three.

If you cannot come, you can always donate to the ministry (pays for food we can't get at food bank) or bring fruit cups (we always need them).

This ministry is a wonderful way to show Christ's love to children. As a result of our partnership with the Food Bank and contributions of food/money from our congregation, the church budget is not burdened by this ministry.

Please join us, this Saturday or any 1st or 3rd Saturday.

Oktoberfest
Wednesday, October 28, 2015
Oktoberfest this year is Wednesday, October 28, with the biergarten opening at 6:30 p.m. and dinner served around 7:00. On the menu: Usinger's bratwurst from Milwaukee, potato salad and tossed salad, sauerkraut and other pickled things, rye bread, and beer and wine. Cost will be $10 per person. Please note that this is an adult gathering, so no nursery will be provided. Since Jane needs to know how many bratwurst to order, please sign up before October 14th. There is a sign-up sheet in the parish hall, or you can email the church office. If you'd like to contribute by bringing potato salad (German or "regular") or sauerkraut, there's a sign-up sheet for that as well in the parish hall. Danke schn!
DR Mission Trip Update
Summary Report Posted Online
Here's the last paragraph from the summary report from our mission trip to the Dominican Republic in June 2015:

So much preparation goes on behind the scenes before a mission team arrives. Thanks to our partners in the Diocese of the Dominican Republic - Karen, Charlie, Emily, Patricia Martin, Padre lvaro and ngela, camp staff Luz and Tomasina - who make sure we get to our destination, house and feed us, and lay the groundwork for the success of our projects. Thanks to our partner team from Nebraska for months of helping to plan and fund the construction projects and for coordinating our "back to back" trip schedules. Thanks to Bill Kunkle of the DDG for coming to visit us and for helping to see that our projects were finally completed later in the summer. Thanks to the people of St. Matthew's Episcopal Church in Orlando for their hospitality in hosting our first team meeting, for feeding us there, and for housing some of the team members. A Special thank-you to our "Home Team" at Christ Episcopal Church who make it possible for our "Go Team" to accomplish so much on every trip.
