Lay Eucharistic Visitor Ministry

Lay Eucharistic Visitor Ministry is a ministry that brings the reserve sacrament and communion to members of the Christ Church community who are homebound for some reason and cannot attend Sunday worship service. We strive to keep God's presence in the lives of all Christ Church parishioners by bringing communion to them at least once a month. If you would like to request a Eucharistic Visit please contact Nancy Lutsko.

Known worldwide as UTO, the United Thank Offering grants are awarded for projects that address human needs and help alleviate poverty both domestically and internationally. The United Thank Offering award funds are derived from the Ingatherings collected twice a year (Spring & Fall) from the well-known and easily recognizable United Thank Offering Blue Box.
Our spring ingathering will be collected on Sunday May 10th by our youth on Youth Sunday. Envelopes will be available in the pew holders and also in your church bulletin on the 10th.

June 15 - June 22, 2015 - FIVE WEEKS AWAY!

We're FIVE weeks away from the start of this year's mission trip to the Dominican Republic!
When Julius arrived in the DR on April 18, he brought in one of the sewing machines we plan to use in our classes this summer and delivered it to Padre �lvaro Yepes, the priest in charge of the rustic conference center in El Pedregal where we stay. We plan to bring 3 or 4 additional sewing machines in our checked baggage on June 15. Julius also discussed several aspects of our construction projects with Charlie Nakash, the resident missionary at the DR diocesan office who coordinates all mission team construction projects. Charlie will be working in El Pedregal in May and early June to make sure the preparation work is completed on both the day care renovation and the house construction sites.
Watch for news about the sauna that has been donated by Martha Scanlon! We hope to have it set up in the parish hall soon, where it will be available for inspection by anyone interested in purchasing it. All of the proceeds will go to our DR Mission Trip fund. The sale will be by sealed bid auction, with a minimum bid of $2,000. We'll have a flyer with complete information soon after the sauna is set up.

Our Junior and Middle School EYC groups are collecting hotel/sample sized toiletries which they will bag and send to The Haven for their clients. There will be a collection bin in the Parish Hall. Thank you so much for helping our youth do God's work in our community!

Sine Nomine Singers of Valdosta will be having their "Home" Concert on Sunday, May 17, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. at St. John's Catholic Church in Valdosta. No admission charge, however donations will be accepted at the door. Sine Nomine Singers will be touring Scotland for a week beginning May 30th.
