DR Scholarship Thank-You Notes
Also: The 2015 Trip Date

We have received a set of 25 thank-you notes from the students at the Episcopal K-8 school in El Pedregal who are enrolled thanks to the scholarships that our team donated for the 2014-2015 academic year. To read more about these notes and to see a scanned copy of each one, go to this Vineyard article

In other mission trip news, we are approaching the deadline of October 6 to confirm our #1 priority date for the 2015 mission trip. That date is June 15-22, 2015, and more information about the 2015 trip including alternate dates is available in this handout from the recent Ministries Fair.

Julia and Julius Ariail will be at church and coffee hour on Sunday, October 5th, and can answer questions about the plans for the 2015 trip. They plan to confirm the 2015 date with the mission trip support office in the Diocese of the Dominican Republic on Monday, October 6th, so please submit any comments on the #1 priority date or any of the alternates to them by Sunday evening, October 5. Once the date is confirmed, then planning will proceed on selecting work projects for that week in collaboration with our partner mission team from the Diocese of Nebraska.

College Ministries Meals
Thursday nights

Canterbury Club (Episcopal College Ministries) has started up for the fall semester.  We would like to provide dinner each Thursday night for around 25 college students starting at 7:00 p.m.  If you are interested in helping provide a meal one Thursday night this can be done in a number of ways.  Food can be prepared and brought to Louttit Hall at 6:30 p.m., donate monetarily and food will be prepared at Louttit Hall, or donate food to be prepared.  Please sign-up in the parish hall, contact the church office or Brenda Keller

Oktoberfest
Thursday, October 30, 2014 at 6:00 p.m.

Oktoberfest this year is Thursday, October 30th, with the biergarten opening at 6:00 p.m. and dinner served around 6:30. On the menu: Usinger's bratwurst from Milwaukee, potato salad and tossed salad, sauerkraut and other pickled things, rye bread, and beer and wine. Cost will be $10 per person. Please note that this is an adult gathering, so no nursery will be provided. Since Jane needs to know how many bratwurst to order, please sign up before October 15th. There is a sign-up sheet in the parish hall, or you can call the church office to leave your name. If you'd like to contribute by bringing potato salad (German or "regular") or sauerkraut, there's a sign-up sheet for that as well in the parish hall. Danke schn!
