Sept 6: Lunch Bunch

We are pleased to announce that Stefani Carroll has joined the staff of Christ Church as Director of Children's Ministries.  Stefani has worked as a volunteer with the children of Christ Church for many years.  We are grateful that Stefani has chosen to continue with our Children's ministry.  Please help us welcome Stefani to the staff of Christ Church.

The Stewardship Committee has been meeting and is excited about the upcoming "We Love Christ Church" Stewardship Celebration Dinner.  Save the Date - Monday, November 3rd, 6:00pm @ Mathis Auditorium!  More information and details will be coming soon!  Your Stewardship Committee members - Elizabeth Wisenbaker, Ann Kasun, Dottie Pitts, Paul Stevenson, Jeff Hanson, Frances Guice and Fr. Dave Johnson.

We are trying to plan out the nursery schedule for September, October and November.  If you would be interested in helping out in our nursery one Sunday a quarter, please contact Stefani Carroll.  

• Canterbury Club (Episcopal College Ministries) is starting up again for the fall semester next week.  We will be providing dinner each Thursday night for around 25 college students starting at 7:00 p.m.  If you are interested in helping provide a meal one Thursday night this can be done in a number of ways.  Food can be prepared and brought to Louttit Hall at 6:30 p.m., donate monetarily and food will be prepared at Louttit Hall, or donate food to be prepared.  Please sign-up in the parish hall, contact the church office or Brenda Keller. 

• Contributions Welcomed!  As our College Ministry grows, so does its needs.  They now have Bibles, Prayer Books, a t.v., a pool table and basket ball game.  Two new pressing needs are folding chairs and window blinds (there are no blinds or curtains in the house!)  If you would like to help make this happen, please give your contribution to Frances Guice, Brenda Keller, or the church office.  Thank you!

The Vestry will be voting on the proposed by-laws at the September 16, 2014 vestry meeting.  If you have questions or concerns about the proposed by-laws please contact a vestry member.  The proposed by-laws of Christ Church have been posted online.  Click here to view the proposed by-laws.   The current by-laws are available here. 

The Men in Blue will be cooking to feed 300 Indigents at Pinevale on September 11, 2014 from 3:30 - 6:30.  If you are available to help on September 11th, please contact David Sandbach at 630-5385.

Fall Gathering will be September 19-21 at Honey Creek.  This event for 6th-12th graders kicks off youth programs at Honey Creek for a new school year. Come enjoy The Creek with singing, games, worship, and more. Register online for this event.
