Rector's Forum
Sunday, June 29, 2014 at 9:00 a.m.
Rector's Forum - Please join Father Dave at 9:00 on June 29th during the Sunday School hour as he shares with us his vision for Christ Church.  This will be our first opportunity to hear from our new rector, so please come early, get a cup of coffee, and join us in the Parish Hall! We will also have a social hour following the 10:00 service so that we all will have an opportunity to meet and greet the Johnson family personally.

Note: We will have name tags available for the next several Sundays to assist Father Dave with the transition.  Please make sure you get one as you enter the parish hall or sanctuary.
Thank You from the Johnsons

Dear Christ Church Family,

My family and I are thrilled to be here!  I wanted to say THANKS so much to all of you who have already done so much to make us feel welcomed here--from helping us unload two different trucks, giving us a welcome basket and lots of goodies, helping us get our bearings in Valdosta--and so many other expressions of welcome--we're really grateful for that!  I look forward to seeing you Sunday (and for those of you who will be gone this Sunday, I look forward to seeing you soon!)  Again, thanks so much for all you have already done to welcome us!

Yours in Christ,

Dave

Thank You from Kim Dudley
I would like to say thank you to everyone for the beautiful plant, and lunch that was provided by Christ Church.  I would like to also thank you all for your prayers, visits, calls and concerns for my family during my husbands stay in the hospital.

I would like to especially thank Nancy Lutsko and Amy Creasy for holding down the fort in the office during my absence.

I am blessed to have a wonderful family and friends support system.  It was truly appreciated.

Blessings to you all,
Kim
DR Mission Team Photos
Sharing the experience
The Christ Church DR Mission team photos are posted! Julius Ariail and other team members contributed photos to the collection depicting the very successful work by the team completing the walls on the house construction, 3 towers on the playground equipment, 5 classes for knitting and crocheting, a splash party for 200 children, and a festive dinner with local church members. The house and the playground are being completed this week by a mission team from Nebraska.

Please take a few minutes to enjoy these photos. You were part of this experience - whether on the "Go Team" or the "Home Team."
The photos are in three places:
Wednesday Night Suppers
Wednesday night suppers will resume July 9.  Please join us for supper immediately following the 6:00 p.m. service.
Notebook Paper
June and July

The Ministries Committee is working together with the South Georgia Partnership to End Homelessness to provide school supplies.  Christ Church has been asked to provide notebook paper (Wide Rule and College Rule) for the 1,000 backpacks.  We are only in need of notebook paper.  Other organizations are collecting certain items as well.  There will be a box in the nave of the Sanctuary for the months of June and July.  If you would prefer to make a monetary donation to help this cause, please make checks to Christ Church and denote that it is for notebook paper.

Lunch Bunch
Saturday, July 5, 2014 at 11:00 a.m.
Lunch Bunch is next Saturday, July 5th at 11:00 a.m. in the parish hall.  We could use as much help as possible as this is a holiday weekend and a number of our regular workers will be out of town.  Please stop by the parish hall and help prepare 125 bag lunches.  If you haven't helped before, it is a fun, easy way to meet fellow parishioners and help those in need.

If you cannot make it on the 5th, here are some future dates: July  19th, August 2nd and August 16th. Please mark your calendar and plan to help out one Saturday.

The Community Depot

The Community Depot has just completed its first year in community outreach.  We would like to thank Christ Church for your participation, support and assistance.  We look forward to serving you in the coming years.

If you would like to donate to The Community Depot, we do pick-ups.  To schedule an appointment for donations, please contact Phyllis Hiers, Bobbie Warren, or Ralph Jackson at 229-561-9343.
