Notebook Paper
June and July

The Ministries Committee is working together with the South Georgia Partnership to End Homelessness to provide school supplies.  Christ Church has been asked to provide notebook paper (Wide Rule and College Rule) for the 1,000 backpacks.  We are only in need of notebook paper.  Other organizations are collecting certain items as well.  There will be a box in the nave of the Sanctuary for the months of June and July.  If you would prefer to make a monetary donation to help this cause, please make checks to Christ Church and denote that it is for notebook paper.

Stitchers' and Friends
Local Project to support Lunch Bunch ministry

I began thinking...what better a ministry for our Stitchers than to support another important Christ Church ministry! Let's make scarves for Lunch Bunch children.

I work with the Lunch Bunch children most weeks, and I believe it is best to create simple scarves from either a worsted weight or bulky yarn.  If we make some of the scarves with "fancy" yarn or "fancy" stitches, then some children may envy others' scarves.  So let's use a simple "knit all stitches" pattern or a single or double crochet.

I have already made a few and found that I got a nice child's scarf by casting on 16 stitches in size 11 needles.  (I was using some bulky stash yarn). My scarves are about 44 inches long and 5 inches wide.  Of course, we have children from age 2 to adolescent, so gauge really does not matter.

V.B.S. - A joyful week!
Thank You!

Vacation Bible School is now over, and what an AMAZING week it was as we shared with over 30 youth the love of a God "who works wonders" (Psalm 144). Please be sure to visit our Facebook page to see photos from the week's fun!

Many hands make light work, and it would have been impossible to have VBS without these incredible Christ Church family members:

Judy DeMott, Happy Ingeman and Sally Honeycutt -- The Snack Ladies (Yummy snacks always served with a smile!)

Shayla Bajalia, Millie Johnson and Rena Nelson -- Our Intrepid Group Leaders (Part loving teacher, part traffic cop!)

Karen Diamond -- Bible Stories and Crafts (not sure who had more fun, Karen or the kids)

Phyllis Hiers and Mimi Allen -- Our Resident Mad Scientists (Always excited to show us the wonders of God's world!)

Grace Diamond and Grace Tanner -- Two Amazing Dance and Song Teachers (They can teach anyone from age 3 on -- except Mrs. Stefani -- to dance. Fantastic job, ladies!)

Josh Hanson, Joey Lindell and John Nelson -- Games Leaders (Able to create games on the fly and corral kids in an instant! Great job, guys!)

John David Greneker, Savannah Allen, Madison Jackson and Cecilia Carroll -- Group Helpers -- From helping with bathroom breaks to holding hands to giving hugs, they were awesome! (Have you recovered yet?)

Karen May - The Resident Floater (Willing to do whatever we needed her to do, and happily every time!)

Rena Nelson (yes, a repeat) -- Decorator Extraordinaire (Able to redecorate in under an hour!!)

Kathy Mayer -- Snack Lady, Photographer, overall wonderful helper (Thanks for being flexible!)

Sally Querin -- Photographer (The pics are beautiful, especially the group shots. Thanks!!)

It was a joy and an honor to work with such an amazing group!

Stefani Carroll
