On June 1st, envelopes for UTO collections will be included in that Sunday's bulletin to make a donation or turn in your coins gathered since our fall 2013 ingathering. United Thank Offering (UTO) is a ministry of the Episcopal Church for the mission of the whole church. Through UTO, men, women, and children nurture the habit of giving daily thanks to God. These prayers of thanksgiving start when we recognize and name our many daily blessings. Those who participate in UTO discover that thankfulness leads to generosity. UTO is entrusted to promote thank offerings, to receive the offerings, and to distribute the UTO monies to support mission and ministry throughout the Episcopal Church and in invited Provinces of the Anglican Communion in the developing world. Thank you for your continued support in this important mission, and remember our change does change lives.
Helen Tucker (UTO Chairman)

Social Media Volunteers Needed
|
A Message from Julius Ariail
|
With the consent of the church's Communication Committee and its chair, Michael Black, I plan to step back from my volunteer work as primary content creator on both the church's Facebook and Twitter accounts as of June 1, 2014, so I can concentrate on the upcoming DR mission trip and the ongoing website and social media platforms of the Dominican Development Group.
Michael and the committee will be looking for other volunteers to work in these social media areas. I will also be cutting back on my work in taking and posting event photographs at Christ Church, knowing that we have several other good photographers in our congregation. I hope to continue working with the church's website, at least until such time as Michael and the committee recruit one or more website volunteers. Anyone interested in working with the Communications Committee on any or all of these projects should contact Michael Black. |
For Second Harvest of South Georgia
|
For the next two weeks we will have a box in the bell tower for the donation of canned goods for the Second Harvest of South Georgia. Food will be picked up after the June 4th 6 p.m. service. This campaign is headed by Angela Ward, whose foundation donated school supplies for the 2014 DR Mission Team to take to the school in El Pedregal.

Wednesday Evening Suppers
|
Wednesday Evening Suppers are suspended temporarily for parish hall kitchen repair work.
An Evening Prayer service will be held at 6:00 p.m. each Wednesday through the summer, but will not be followed by a meal. Please take note of these changes.
|
We are in need of nursery workers to help care for our littlest ones each Sunday during worship. If you can just give one Sunday this summer to help us staff the nursery, please contact Jeani Synyard.

The Christ Church Preschool is now accepting applications for open enrollment for the 2014-2015 school year. If you are interested, or know someone who has a young child pre-school age, applications can be found online. We offer 2, 3, and 4 year old classes. Classes are filled on a first come, first served basis.
Christ Church also offers a Parents Morning Out (PMO) program for children 6 months to 4 years of age. Enrollment for the summer program has started. Please contact the church office for more information.
