DR 2014 Mission Trip
Communication Plan While In the Dominican Republic
Julius Ariail will have a cell phone and a laptop activated for international calling, text messaging, and email messaging and can relay calls or messages received for any other team member. In general, cell phone voice, text messaging, and email messaging are reliable both in Santo Domingo and in El Pedregal (our work site). However, in the event communication with Julius is not successful, contact Karen Carroll at the DR Diocesan office and she will relay the message either to Julius or to the administration of the Episcopal camp and conference center in El Pedregal.

Availability of photos and reports online during the trip:
Julius Ariail is planning to post photos and reports online each day on Christ Church's Facebook page, here:
https://www.facebook.com/ChristEpiscopalChurchValdostaGA
The number and the quality of the photos posted, plus the length of the reports, will depend on the strength of the Internet connection while in El Pedregal. After the team returns to the US, a much larger set of higher-quality photos will be posted on Christ Church's website: http://www.christchurchvaldosta.org
A detailed trip report will be available on the church's website, here: http://www.christchurchvaldosta.org
If you are thinking about taking a smartphone, tablet or a laptop on the mission trip, please read this second information sheet before making a decision. If you have questions about this, contact Julius directly (contact information above) so he can share more of his experience with you.
