Building on Faith - November 16th-23rd
|
Every year the Valdosta-Lowndes County Habitat for Humanity hosts the Building on Faith Event with support from the local churches. Of course monetary donations are always huge in getting a home built but we also need and love our volunteers! We couldn't get these homes built without our wonderful volunteers. These volunteers don't have to swing a hammer but can also help sign in volunteers, serve lunches, or even help in the office. This year the build will be November 16-23. For more information contact Donnie Radney or call 229-245-1330 x27 .

"Jamming with Jesus" food ministry would like to thank all of the Christ Church parishioners who contributed to our "Serving Our Seniors" food collection. Through your generosity we were able to deliver seventy bags of groceries to our seniors. They were overwhelmed as they unpacked the bags and saw the "makings" for a baked ham dinner complete with pineapple, yams, peas and thanks to Katherine Mayer, a loaf of pumpkin bread. That would be a total of 25 large loaves of delicious bread. If you are interested in joining our group or making a donation please contact Stella Clark or Marge McCartney. Thank you again and have a safe and blessed Thanksgiving.

Dates Set for Dominican 2014 Trip
|
The dates are set for the next mission trip to El Pedregal in the Dominican Republic: June 7-14, 2014. Longtime mission team participant Fred Richter from Trinity Statesboro is this year's group leader, and Julia Ariail and Helen Tucker are the local coordinators. The Rev. Tar Drazdowski, soon-to-be completely fluent in Spanish, is the team chaplain, hopefully. The project list is in progress; however, we hope to teach knitting and crochet as well as help with construction at the camp and in the village. Vacation Bible School and other activities for children are yet to be determined based on conversation with the new camp administrator, Fr. Álvaro Yepes. Stand by for more information on trip details and how to join the 2014 team.
A mission team from Nebraska was in El Pedregal from October 12-19, 2013, and returned with a set of current photographs and a detailed trip report. To read that report with its photo link, go here:
