Our Preschool began Monday, August 26 and has openings available for our 3-and 4-year-old classes.
Our PMO operates year-round and also has openings.

The Search Committee has sent the Ministries Portfolio to the Diocese where it will be reviewed and posted on a national website for Episcopal clergy to locate openings. This posting will remain open for several months after which time the Diocese and Search Committee will review applications. The Community Depot - Joan Bailey Center is now accepting donations of furniture, appliances, home decor and used cell phones. We can schedule pickups for large items by appointment beginning Friday, September 20th. 100% of net proceeds benefit local charities.
Volunteer opportunities are now available in our new warehouse facility located on Herbert Street, Valdosta. Christ Episcopal Church members are invited to sign up to volunteer for any of the following dates: Saturday, September 21st, 28th, or October 5th, 8:30 a.m. to noon. A light lunch will be provided. The renovation of the Tomberlin House from a preschool to student housing is 95% complete. The renovated house will be blessed by the Rev. Cantrell on Sunday, September 15 at the conclusion of the 10:00 a.m. service. An open house will be held on Thursday, September 19 from 7 - 8 p.m. for members of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes to tour the facility. WEDNESDAY EVENINGS are exciting! Six p.m. service; mouthwatering supper with exquisite desserts prepared by the Parten family; women's study group with Tammy Borders; 3 EYC (Episcopal Youth) groups; K-4th; 5th-8th; and high school meet from 7-8. The college ministry group has a discussion in Louttit Hall. Choir practice at 7:30 p.m. Join the fun and fellowship!

Discerning the Voice of God: How to Recognize when God Speaks. A six week course with videos by Priscilla Shirer, a graduate of Dallas Theological Seminary with a Master's degree in Biblical Studies. She has published several books including, "A Jewel in His Crown," "One in a Million," "Life Interrupted" and the recent NY Times bestseller, "The Resolution for Women." Time: 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesdays in the Parish Hall.

Adult Christian Education

The September schedule for the Adult Christian Education will feature:
September 15 - Irene Dodd and Willa Valencia will lead us in a discussion of spirituality and discipleship. Irene and Willa are biblical scholars who make the "Word" real for us. September 22 - John Hiers will begin the discussion of Speaking of Sin by Barbara Brown Taylor. This short book (99 pages) is available in the church office (12 copies at $11) or from Amazon. This three-week series will last through October 6. Some classes will be informational, some will be interactive and all will be designed to support you in your Christian life.
