Call for Sunday School Teachers
For the school year 2013 - 2014

We need Sunday School teachers. This year we have decided to combine classes in order to have more kids - and therefore more fun! - in each class. The classes are as follows:

       PreK-2nd grade

3rd-5th grade (One teacher already signed up)

       Middle School

High School  (Two teachers already signed up)

We would like to have at least 3 teachers per class, to lighten the load for each one. There are a total of 34 Sundays in our Sunday School year, so 3 teachers would mean 11 or 12 days (out of the 9-month year), and 4 teachers per class would mean 8 or 9 days (once a month).

Please prayerfully consider becoming a part of the Christian formation of our youth - not only the future, but the NOW of our church family!

Gift Bags for Guests
In the Foyer
We have gift bags for guests with information about Christ Church and a small gift on the table in the foyer. A note in the Sunday Bulletin invites the guest to pick one up. If you are seated beside a guest, please invite her or him to take one of the bags after the service and to sign our guest book.
Nursery Worker Needed
Christ Church is looking for an additional nursery worker to help staff our nursery.  If you know of someone who enjoys working with young children from birth to 5 years old to work at all of our services, please call the church office for an interview and a detailed job description.  We need coverage for all of our services.
Service Time - Music Survey?
Ends Wednesday, July 31st!
The Vestry would like to know your preferences on service times, type of music and Christian education for our church. It is anonymous and tabulated by computer. If you prefer a printed copy, please contact Kim in the church office.

Room to Rent?
Posting this on behalf of Phyllis Holland.

Gene Pike, temporary instructor in accounting at VSU, and brother of Mike's walking partner on the Camino is looking for a place to stay three nights a week next semester. He has been in this position for three years and is a fine fellow. He envisions an older couple with a spare bedroom who could put him up Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday nights each week. He is willing to pay $300 a month ($1200 for the semester). Obviously, he wants to stay with people who are quiet and well-behaved like he is. Any suggestions will be appreciated, and should be sent directly to Gene at this email address: [email protected]
Search Committee

The Search Committee with the help and direction of the Ariails continues to refine the Parish Profile.  We hope to finalize it at our meeting on August 8 and forward it to the Diocese.  This will be a big step forward in the Search process.  We appreciate your patience and are thankful for your prayers.

If you have questions, please contact Phyllis Holland, 242-0577.

With our sincere gratitude,

The Search Committee members: Michael Black; Allan Dear; Phyllis Holland, Chair; Jeani Synyard; Mike Tanner; Helen Tucker; Nikki Yarbrough.
