June 30, 2013 - immediately after 10:00 service
|
The purpose of this meeting is to discuss the Church Assessment Survey results. This is the survey that everyone took back in April. Vestry members will be in attendance to help answer any questions about the results of the survey.
If you would like to preview the survey results, they can be found on the home page of the church website, on the transition page of website, on the church Facebook page, Twitter, or you can access the link here.
Please mark your calendar, and plan to attend this important congregational meeting, Sunday, June 30, 2013 immediately after 10:00 a.m. service.
Thank you for your continued support of Christ Church.

Success in the Dominican Republic
|
From June 15-22, 2013, seventeen missioners from nine different Episcopal and Catholic congregations in Georgia and Alabama came together to form the 2013 Dominican Republic Mission team sponsored by Christ Episcopal Church. Read the trip report and view the photographs to share the joy and sense of accomplishment we shared with our friends in El Pedregal. The photo album will grow over the next 2 weeks as new photos are edited and posted.
God brought us home rejoicing in the wonders He has shown us.

We will be having Wednesday evening service, Wednesday, July 3rd, followed by dinner and an ice cream social. Frances Guice is looking for help with preparing the homemade ice cream. If you can help her by preparing a batch or two, please give her a call at 229-560-2180.

Please pray for the Search Committee as it works on the Parish Profile. Pray that we will find language and images that will accurately depict the spirit of Christ Church.
If you have questions, please contact Phyllis Holland, 242-0577.
With our sincere gratitude,
The Search Committee members: Michael Black; Allan Dear; Phyllis Holland, Chair; Jeani Synyard; Mike Tanner; Helen Tucker; Nikki Yarbrough.

When Canon Logue was here with the vestry a week ago, he told the vestry that he thought that Christ Church should continue with the summer schedule of services through August. That will give us more time to test the schedule and to gather feedback. So please mark your calendars appropriately. The 8:00am,10:00am and 6:00pm services will continue through August, and the vestry will be asking for your feedback on why you attend the service that you attend and what you particularly like about that liturgy.

Thursday Morning Bible Study will NOT meet this week in observance of Independence Day. Hope to see everyone again on July 11, 2013. The group will be studying the Book of Acts. This is a great time to add the Bible study to your weekly calendar.

Our website is once again up and functioning as normal. The virus problem has been eliminated, although vigilance is still needed in case of future problems. The web sexton appreciates everyone's patience while the site was down due to problems at our host site. Please continue to check the site often for news of Christ Church activities.
