Help for Tornado Victims
Episcopal Relief and Developement

Episcopal Relief & Development encourages prayers for those impacted, and for first responders who are providing immediate assistance.  Donations to Episcopal Relief & Development's Tornado Response Fund will support outreach efforts in affected areas and help meet urgent needs.

Local responders and authorities are currently assessing the situation in Moore, Oklahoma, just outside Oklahoma City, where a two-mile-wide tornado leveled neighborhoods and destroyed two elementary schools on the evening of May 20.  Of the 24 deaths currently confirmed, seven were children at Plaza Towers Elementary School.  According to reports, debris and road damage are hampering search and rescue efforts.

The Episcopal Diocese of Oklahoma posted the following message on their website: "Thank you to all who have reached out to us in response to the devastating tornadoes in Oklahoma. We are in the process of assessing the situation and coordinating assistance to our communities."

Please join me as we hold up in prayer those who have suffered bodily injury, loss of home and especially those who have died. And please continue to pray for all the public servants who are there to serve."

Gifts can be made to: Christ Episcopal Church denote for ERD in memo section, or online at Episcopal Relief.

Search Committee

As the Search Committee finalizes the survey summary and works on the Parish Profile, we want to be sure that everyone who wanted to participate in a focus group has had the opportunity to do so.  We know who has participated but we don't know who wants to participate but hasn't had the opportunity.  We are going to schedule two open meetings - one on June 9 and one on June 23 as "make-up" days.  These will immediately follow the Sunday service and last about 45 minutes.  We want to emphasize that these meetings will be focus group meetings; if you have already participated in a focus group with members of the Search Committee, you don't need to attend.   If you want to participate and neither of these is convenient PLEASE let a member of the search committee know.  We want to hear from each of you.  Thank you for your prayers!!

If you have questions, please contact Phyllis Holland, 242-0577.

With our sincere gratitude,

The Search Committee members: Michael Black; Allan Dear; Phyllis Holland, Chair; Jeani Synyard; Mike Tanner; Helen Tucker; Nikki Yarbrough.
