Greetings!
We've had a wonderful start to 2013! In January, many of us headed out to the Ozarks Food Harvest Volunteer Night. We were able to serve our community in a hands-on way with great friends! We held our first online auction in January, and were able to raise funds for our community, while offering great deals on quality items! And we started February off with the same enthusiasm! February 2nd was our Winter Clearance Sale, and was a smashing success! In the coming weeks, you'll hear more about all of our exciting FLiP meetings and events for 2013!
Sincerely, Megan Blevins Cindy Howell mblevins@uwozarks.com chowell@uwozarks.com |

"We had a great turnout, it was just wonderful! We helped a lot of professional women who were so excited about the clothing that they got. We saw ladies from all professions and from all over the Ozarks! We really want to thank the wonderful ladies that volunteered, and worked so hard to make the day successful.
Thank You!"

The Suit Yourself Boutique can always use volunteers who want to help women in the Ozarks who are entering or re-entering the workforce. Volunteers can be personal shoppers, boutique assistants, or shop coordinators.
What is a personal shopper?
A personal shopper assists the boutique shoppers with picking out appropriate clothing for their needs. This could include helping the client select appropriate sizes, styles, and accessories.
What is a boutique assistant?
A boutique assistant helps to organize and run the boutique. This could include sorting donated clothing, helping to put clothes away that aren't selected by the clients, and/or general housekeeping responsibilities.
What is a Shop Coordinator?
The Shop Coordinator is a volunteer that is either on the Suit Yourself Boutique Committee or an experienced volunteer. The shop coordinator is responsible for opening and closing the shop and making sure the boutique temperature is appropriate for shoppers.
Ready to volunteer? Tuesdays 4:30pm - 6:00pm Saturday, February 2nd 9:00am - 1:00pm 320 W. Pershing

Girls on the Run of Southwest Missouri
Girls on the RunŽ is a national non-profit positive youth development program which combines an interactive curriculum and running to inspire self-respect and healthy lifestyles in pre-teen girls. Our core curriculum addresses many aspects of girls' development - their physical, emotional, mental and social well-being. Lessons provide girls with the tools to make positive decisions and to avoid risky adolescent behaviors. Our local council, Girls on the Run of Southwest Missouri, is hosting their annual Valentine Dinner & Dance. Event proceeds will provide scholarships for local girls giving them the opportunity to participate in the program. Friday, February 8, 2013 6:00pm Knights of Columbus Diamond Room Volunteers are needed to set up and decorate the day of the event, beginning at 9:00 am. If you are interested in helping, please contact Trish Hopkins, trish@gotrswmo.org.

"When women do better, economies do better."
This article brings to light how women can be vital assets to companies. They state that as women in the workforce are able to bring home more income, they're able to make a measurable difference on the economy. More companies than ever are investing in the women they employ.
