Mary Schletzbaum, a May 2013 Rockhurst University gradua te,
is currently in Tanzania serving as a Jesuit Volunteer at Saint Peter Claver High School. This Jesuit school is excited to begin its fourth year, though construction of the campus continues as the school grows; many unfinished projects await funding. One such project is the bathroom. Right now there are not enough toilets to even begin to accommodate the 600+ students and teachers that are on campus. Adding to this problem is the issue of frequent flooding in the current bathrooms when they are overused or when there is a heavy rain that washes the septic back up through the floor. The dream is to install flush toilets (an upgrade from the manual-flush ceramic drop toilets currently in use) and a much improved,
more hygienic and environmentally friendly septic system.
Estimated Project Cost: $2500.

Almighty Creator,
Help us see that your plan is not yet established
Until all are allowed to contribute their unique talents
Help us realize that none of us can move forward
As long as one of us is left behind
Help us work not in competition for our own gain or purpose,
But rather in cooperation towards fulfillment
Of your plan for all of us
We pray "Thy kingdom come, thy will be done."
And we work towards that.
