Question of the Week: Pope Francis selected a group of eight cardinals to assist with Vatican reform. Who is the U.S. cardinal included in the group?
Last Week's Answer: Peter Hans-Kolvenbach, SJ was the 29th Superior General (i.e. world-wide head honcho) of the Society of Jesus, aka "the Jesuits."
Last Week's Winner is . . . Larry Rudolf!
Send your answer to Cindy Schmersal by 9:00am on Wednesday. Of those students who respond, one will be chosen at random to receive a free (and delicious!) twister from the Pub. The winner will be announced in the following week's bulletin.

It's been a full week at the Vatican. Have you ever taken the time to explore everything offered on their website? If not, have at it!
|
In case you missed it, America Magazine featured an interview with Pope Francis, conducted by Antonio Spadaro, S.J. The interviews took place over the course of three days. The result is an insightful look at our new Pope.

We arrange our lives as best we can,
to keep your holiness at bay,
with our pieties,
our doctrines,
our liturgies,
our moralities,
our secret ideologies,
Safe, virtuous, settled.
And then you -
You and your dreams,
You and your visions,
You and your purposes,
You and your commands,
You and our neighbors.
We find your holiness not at bay,
but probing, pervading,
insisting, demanding.
And we yield, sometimes gladly,
sometimes resentfully,
sometimes late . . .or soon.
We yield because you, beyond us, are our God.
we are your creatures met by your holiness,
by your holiness made our true selves.
and we yield.
Amen.
