Spring is here and with it comes lots of energy and excitement.  On May 8 we honored three new Community Action Champions, and, thanks to the generosity of our sponsor and guests, we raised over $70K for our Healthy Senior Lunch program.  Now we're getting ready for our Summer Food Service Program to provide healthy lunches and snacks during the summer to low-income children across the county.  I hope you'll also enjoy reading about our NAEYC-accredited preschools, and that you take a minute to meet our two new Program Directors, Tracy Lang Wood and Todd Kelly.
Community Action Champions
More than 200 people attended the Community Action Commission's Community Action Champions annual dinner Thursday night, May 8, 2014, at the Hotel Corque in Solvang.

What's "In" When School's Out
CAC provides a nutritious lunch each weekday to over 1,000 children and youth from low-income families at summer youth programs in Carpinteria, Santa Barbara, Goleta, Santa Maria, New Cuyama and Guadalupe.

CAC + NAEYC = Accreditation!
Accreditation of CAC's Head Start centers by the National Association for the Education of Youth Children (NAEYC) is almost 100 percent complete.

Thank you for your support of CAC. Together we are helping people and changing lives right here in Santa Barbara County.

Sincerely,
