| Edna Bauer |
Edna Bauer is typical of many seniors who receive daily meals from CAC. Edna and her husband live in Carpinteria and have been married for 61 years.
Mr. Bauer had a stroke in 2005. The couple had been going to the Veterans' Memorial Building in Carpinteria for CAC's Healthy Senior Lunch program until, a few months ago, Edna fell in the yard and broke her arm. She could not shop or prepare meals, and began receiving home-delivered Healthy Senior Lunch meals from CAC.
Guillermo is Edna's driver. She says of him, "He is so good. He's always on time and is very courteous and polite."
When it comes to the meals, Edna says, "I can't think of anything I don't like and it's always nice and hot when the driver brings it....and the meals are nutritious. The spaghetti is even whole wheat."
I am writing to ask you to help Edna and other seniors in our community who need healthy, daily meals in order to stay independent.
Here's what your support will do:
- Your $55 gift will provide meals for a low-income senior for a month.
- Your gift of any amount will help purchase food for seniors in need.
Thank you in advance for your support and for caring about our senior citizens.
