Direct inquiries from AAA offices,  visitors planning their trips domestically and those outside the US request our packets and guide.  This guide is also downloadable from our website, Mendocinocoast.com,  and is distributed to the 10,000 visitors that walk through our door.

Saturday October 4 2014 The Mendocino One World festival returns to

The Third Annual Soup and Chili cook off to benefit the Fort Bragg Food Bank will be held on Saturday October 18, 5-7:30pm at Pentecost Hall on Stewart St. There will be a mouth watering selection of soups and chilis. You get to vote for your favorite in given categories . There will be a silent auction and no host bar. Cost for tasting is. $20, $10 if you are under 12.. Safe Passage Family Resource Center invites you to participate.The Coalition for Gang Awareness and Prevention (CGAP) meets every month. It brings together people from many walks of life to help make our community a safe place where our youth can grow and thrive. Attending are representatives from law enforcement, the schools, youth serving and other agencies, the county, as well as interested community members. CGAP would welcome representatives from the business community to become involved in this group, which has some interesting projects in the works.  Interested? On Monday September 15th. a fire raged thru the town of Weed Ca. causing catastrophic damage leaving destruction in its wake. At this point 1/4 of the town has been totally destroyed . Much of the towns infrastructure is not working and there are many families left with only the clothes on their backs. The Rotary club of Fort Bragg is asking for your help as they organize

a relief fund
of money and non- perishable food goods for the people of Weed. 

What you can do: 

1. Please bring your cash donations to any Mendo Lake Credit Union and tell them to deposit it to the Weed Fire Relief Fund which Rotary has set up.   

2.There will be donation boxes at all Mendo Lake Credit Union locations for the non-perishable food items.

Fort Bragg Rotary  is asking that you help support their efforts in providing the relief needed for the people of Weed. Reach out and be a part of supporting this rural community in its critical time of need.

Noyo River Run  Mendocino Coast District Hospital's annual Noyo River 5K Walk/Run and 10K Run will be held Saturday, October 11, with a start time of 9:00am. With a goal of raising more than $20,000 for five charities, including three in Fort Bragg, planning is now underway for the

9th Annual Wine, Mushroom and Ale Festival. The Festival, sponsored by

St. Anthony's Catholic Church
in Mendocino, will be held from noon to 4 pm Saturday, November 8, at Parish Hall, 10600 Lansing Street, Mendocino.You can reserve tickets (no upfront payment required) by calling 937-2406.  Tickets will also be available at the door.

 

Beneficiaries of this year's fundraiser are  Chamber Members ,The Fort Bragg Food Bank, the Mendocino Coast Children's Fund, and Redwood Coast Senior Center in Fort Bragg and St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Mendocino. "Each group will receive several thousand dollars as in past years," said Festival Coordinator John Innes.

Like last year, there will be wine tasting, a mushroom soup contest, mushroom d'oeuvres, cheese sampling, olive oil sampling, and silent and live auctions.New to the tasting menu this year will be microbrews.

  

 

 

 

 

Rescheduled ...the "Coffee With Your Congressman" event will now be on Wednesday, October 15th, 8:30-10:00 am at the Mendocino County Museum located at 400 E. Commercial St. in Willits. This is an opportunity to talk with the Congressman in a more informal setting and learn about his views on a variety of issues and talk with him about what is happening locally and nationally.

A fanciful collection of Alexis Moyer's ceramic animals will help Edgewater Gallery celebrate its 11th anniversary in Fort Bragg during October.  Moyer's collection ranges from dragons to bunny rabbits, and each has Moyer's signature style of whimsy and playfulness.  Show opening will be First Friday, October 3, from 5-8 p.m. at the gallery, 356 N.
