Maryville Today
Letter from Our Administrator

March 2015

I love this quote: "Luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunity."

With St. Patrick's Day approaching, we're feeling lucky and honored. Maryville was one of just 10 institutions that received the Leading Participant Award from the Oregon Patient Safety Commission during their Fourth Annual Patient Safety Breakfast. Oregon Patient Safety Commission Board member Beth Biggs (left) and Executive Director Bethany A. Walmsley (right) presented the award to Maryville Quality Assurance Director/Infection Control Preventionist Mary Ludlum.

This wonderful honor is the result of the hard work and dedication of our outstanding caregivers. We hope you will join us in thanking and congratulating them.

We're also grateful to feel the strong support of leaders in our community. Beaverton Mayor Denny Doyle is a regular visitor to Maryville. He joined the Mayor's Youth Advisory Board and the Valley Catholic Pep Band at our "Senior Prom" in February and explained why Maryville is special to him.

After celebrating Mass in our chapel in February, Archbishop Alexander Sample shared his thoughts on the importance of Maryville as a health care provider founded on deep and lasting values.

We are lucky because we have wonderful staff and volunteers. Our Employee of the Month Roshini Janadasa makes a difference at Maryville every day. Joseph Tran brings warmth and compassion to his role as as Maryville volunteer. I know you'll enjoy learning more about them.

Most of all, we feel lucky - and blessed - that you are part of our Maryville family.

Our March employee of the month is Roshini Jinadasa, a longtime Certified Nursing Assistant at Maryville who has earned the trust and respect our families and residents. Her husband, Ranil, is known and respected on our campus for his years of dedication working at Valley Catholic.
