Meet the Sisters: Sister Lawdean Lamberger

It isn't surprising that a former bookkeeper would enjoy Sudoku.

That's just one of the hobbies of Sister Lawdean Lamberger, who celebrates her 60th Jubilee in 2014.

From Holy Thursday to the quiet of Good Friday to Holy Saturday and Easter Sunday, Easter is a deeply meaningful time on the Sisters of St. Mary of Oregon campus.

A walk with the Archbishop

Who is that smiling with the Sisters of St. Mary of Oregon? None other than Archbishop Alexander Sample. The Sisters supported the 2014 Archdiocese of Portland Catholic Youth Pilgrimage Walk.  

Sisters support the 2014 Valley Catholic Gala  

The Sisters of St. Mary of Oregon were among the most popular guests at the 2014 Valley Catholic Gala. 

 

More than 340 guests gathered on April 26 at the Hilton Portland to celebrate and support Valley Catholic School.   

 

Jubilee 2014: Save the date! 

On Sunday, July 27, the Sisters of St. Mary of Oregon will honor their 2014 Jubilarians with a 1:30 p.m. Mass in the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Chapel, followed by a reception honoring the Sisters for their service and ministry.

Meet Our Associates: A visit to Astoria

Sister Juanita Villarreal shares her visit to St. Mary, Star of the Sea Catholic Parish in Astoria to meet with the wonderful men and women who are Sisters of St. Mary of Oregon Associates.   

Bethany Center: Portraits of Mary

On May 3, 36 Sisters and several Associate members experienced an inspiring and challenging description of Mary presented by Dr. Elaine Park, a Scripture scholar and friend of the Community.  

 

Saint of the Month: St. Joseph the Worker 

To keep Jesus from being removed from ordinary human life, the Catholic Church emphasizes that Jesus was a carpenter, trained by Joseph in both the satisfactions and the hard work of that vocation.
