A MESSAGE FROM THE SSMO
SUPERIOR GENERAL

Dear Families and Friends,

The Advent season is upon us and Christmas is around the corner--again!  One cannot help but think of gifts at this time of year.  I am so proud of my siblings, who have agreed that instead of bringing a gift to exchange at our family Christmas party, we will make a donation to a charity.  I have to admit, our dad promoted that idea long ago.  I think he must be smiling upon us and thinking, "They were slow to catch on to the reason for the season, but they finally did."

Speaking of gifts, last week at the Catholic Charities luncheon, I heard someone describing a fellow parishioner in this way: "Her life is a gift."  By that she meant that each day this person finds a way to respond to those in need.  In this season of gifts, this generous person reminds me of what this season is all about.

May this season of gift-giving extend and expand throughout the coming year!

Blessings,

Sr. Charlene Herinckx
SSMO Superior General
