In the Spotlight

The grooviest library event of the year is in full swing as the Scholastic Book Fair takes over the MLS library. Students can purchase books through Thursday, March 3. On Wednesday 5:30-7:30 pm, bring the whole gang for Family Night: shop for books, purchase pizza for dinner, enjoy stories with our Mystery Readers (starting at 6 pm), and buy your very own autographed copy of Mr. Hicks's books! Click here for more details. Can't get enough book fair? Click here to visit our online book fair, open through March 8. A portion of all book fair sales directly benefits our library -- thank you for shopping!

At the Silent Auction on Friday, March 18, we'll be raffling off a couple's sunset Hot Air Balloon ride over Charlottesville from Monticello Country Ballooning! Tickets are $10 each, or 6 for $50. Tickets can be purchased through backpack mail, online, or at the auction. Questions? Contact Laura Ege at lauraege@gmail.com. And the auction catalog is now online -- click here to check it out!

mlspto.org Highlights for the Week

A grand total of 14,917 box tops were submitted from our annual box top classroom competition! In this school year, we have raised over $1,500 through Box Tops for Education. And we had a come-from-behind winner in the final week:

1) Benoit - 1st grade - 2,065!
2) Parmelee - 5th grade - 1,971
3) Kuhn - 3rd - 1,665

It was a tight race -- the following classrooms were all over 1,000: Stewart, Scully, Wilson, Hicks, Wetmore-Simpson. Party plans to follow soon for the winning classroom! Thanks to all who sent in Box Tops.

Online registration is now open for Kids Night Out on Friday, March 18. Hours have been extended for this KNO only, to accommodate parents attending the MLS PTO Silent Auction. Pickup is at 10:30 pm! Click here for details and to register
