In the Spotlight

Last week's winter storm closings triggered the use of the division's four make-up days on the school calendar. Schools now will be in session on Monday, February 15; Friday, April 1; and Monday and Tuesday, June 6 and 7. In addition, schools will be closed for students on Tuesday, March 1 for the presidential primary. All schools will remain closed from Monday, April 4, through Friday, April 8, for spring break. No further calendar adjustments for school closures are expected this school year.

There is no better way to honor your child's fantastic teacher than than with a Golden Apple nomination! Nominations are due to the MLS office TOMORROW, Thursday, February 4Click here for more details. 

Mark your calendar for everyone's favorite library event, the Scholastic Book Fair! Volunteers make our fair a success. We need people to help children with their book selections and purchases; brush off your cash register skills!   • Alliance Francaise de CharlottesvilleThe AFC is beginning a class for parents who are interested in brushing up on their French to use at home with their children. The class will meet once a week at the AFC on Wednesdays from 9:30-11am for 6-week sessions beginning February 3.
