Important School Board Election Information

As you may know, election day is Tuesday, November 3. Five of the seven seats on the Albemarle County School Board are up for election, and while two of those races are uncontested, almost half of the board next year will be composed of new faces.

Many of the decisions that this new school board makes will directly impact our school and our children. To learn more about the candidates and their various positions on issues, please take a moment to visit this site:

And since our World Language program at MLS is going to be up for funding with the new school board, we encourage you to understand each candidate's stance on the issue prior to election day:

Finally, the League of Women Voters along with the Albemarle Public Schools' Parent Council is sponsoring a forum this evening at Monticello High School from 7-8:30pm. Voters will be able to hear from candidates for the At-Large seat and for the Rivanna and Scottsville Districts.

The upcoming election is an important one! Please be an informed voter and help spread the word about the candidates you support in your community!
