In the Spotlight

Join us for Family Game Night on Friday, November 6, 6:30-8 pm. Stratego, Pictionary, Risk, Connect Four, Scrabble ... It BOGGLES the mind how much fun we had last year! Free snacks and good times for all! Special P-K-Grade 1 Game Zone for the youngest players too! Great way to meet other families and check out some new games (also a great source of ideas for fun holiday gifts). Don't RISK missing the fun! New this year: Carpe Donut Challenge: each grade competes to have the most players in attendance ... winning grade gets Carpe Donuts! If you are interested in volunteering, sign up here: http://www.signupgenius.com/go/9040548AEAA2D6-mlsgame. Questions? Email Jen Bryerton jennifer@ivypublications.com. Click here for full details.

As you heard from Dr. Irani at Back to School Night, one of the strategic goals for our school community is to develop empathy in our students. The "Bluebirds Care" program is designed to help give wings to this idea, enabling our students to be directly involved in giving back to our greater community. Click here to read more about the program; contact Mindy Goodall and Peggy Williams at president@mlspto.org if you have ideas to share!

Our PTO would accomplish nothing without the generous and tireless efforts of volunteers. Click here for more details on the many folks who contributed their time and talents during the busy back-to-school months. THANK YOU! If you are still looking for a way to get involved, contact Kenna Boyd, Volunteer Coordinator, at volunteer@mlspto.org.

mlspto.org Highlights for the Week

The Annual Fund is a sustainable source of support for MLS to address the most pressing strategic initiatives and funding gaps. Our goal is 100% participation in the Annual Fund by MLS families. Your donation of any size directly benefits the school, and our participation as a whole demonstrates our commitment and unified support of our children's education. Your letter should have arrived in your home mailbox last week, with complete instructions on how to donate via US Mail or backpack mail, or click here to donate now online

The MLS Sportswear shop is open for business! This year we are offering new logos and new apparel choices -- options for the whole family! Orders and payment will be handled directly through Rivanna Gear & Apparel's MLS online store. Order today and show your love for Meriwether! Click here for full details, or click here to visit the online store directly.

Do you ever shop at Harris Teeter, Kroger, Amazon, or Target (with a RED card)? If so, follow these simple steps to earn money for the PTO. Easiest. Fundraising. Ever. So please do it. Click here to find out how.
