Back to School Night and PTO General Meeting

Please join us for the 2015 MLS General PTO meeting at Back to School Night on Tuesday, September 8. We will meet at 6pm in the gym for Dr. Irani's welcome and remarks and the general meeting will follow. Agenda items include our funding priorities for the year and approving the annual budget. At approximately 6:30pm teacher presentations in the classrooms will begin.

A Year Without a MLS Yearbook? Parent Volunteers Needed

We are looking for one or two parents to lead the MLS yearbook effort this year, either as an individual effort or with the help of a 5th grade yearbook club. If you might be interested in this fun and rewarding volunteer role, click here for more details!

Art Print: Art Print, sponsored by the PTO and led by parent volunteers, is a program that brings art history lessons into MLS classrooms. Click here for more information on the program and how to get involved!

"Dead" Marker Recycling Program: MLS is now registered as a Crayola "Eco Cool School": Crayola will pay shipping costs for the school to send in dried up/dead markers and tops of any brand! Click here for details.

Community News:

WeKids Orchestra: Fourth- and fifth-graders interested in playing a string instrument can participate in the WeKids Orchestra, a free program for students in the Western Feeder Pattern. Click here for information and enrollment forms.
The Charlottesville Albemarle Convention & Visitors Bureau is hosting USA Cycling for 10 days as they prepare for the UCI World Cycling Championships in Richmond later this month.
