A Year Without EZone?
The PTO is seeking a coordinator for Enrichment Zone next year! The deadline for applications has been extended to Friday, April 17th.

As with all of our programs, EZone relies on a parent volunteer to make the magic happen. No willing parent, no EZone! Given the time commitment and the importance of the role, the EZone Coordinator is offered a stipend of $2,500 per year, making this the most highly (and only) compensated job in the MLS PTO!

Want to learn more about it? Click here for the job description. Please contact Mrs. Robertson or PTO Co-VP Peggy Williams at peggybwilliams@icloud.com with any questions or to apply.

Golden Apple Winner - Mr. Sherogan!

Golden Apple award Congratulations to Mr. Andrew Sherogan, who has been named the Golden Apple award winner for Meriwether Lewis this year. Mr. Sherogan has worked diligently to hone his craft around TAB (Teaching for Artistic Behavior). Mr. Sherogan has also partnered with teachers to incorporate engineering and design principles in his work with students across grade levels.

Order Your Yearbook Now

order yearbook It's time to order yearbooks!  Orders coming in before April 17 will be charged $16 per book.  After that they are $17.

We Notice Program
montana-teacher.jpg The County Student Advisory Council and Albemarle Publics Schools are excited to announce the start of the annual We Notice Program.

This is an opportunity to recognize a teacher or staff member whose work you would like to celebrate.  This recognition can be given to any staff member who works in our schools, such as teachers, office staff, building service team members, teaching assistants, cafeteria workers, school nurses, and bus drivers.

Click on this link to access the recognition form

Staff who are recognized will be invited to attend a reception at the Albemarle County Office Building on April 23.

Landscaping and Garden Updates

gardening-items.jpg A big "Thank you" goes out to parent volunteer,Terry Bennett, for installing a gutter system on the trailer next to the MLS Garden. His hard work allows for rain water to be collected in our garden rain barrel and used to water our incredible veggies! Have you seen the garden this spring? Take a look! The greens have overwintered beautifully and the kids will be experiencing the joy of eating fresh home grown, organic veggies in their classrooms!

Help MLS look its best! The MLS campus is something we can all be proud of. But, it takes volunteers to make that happen. Please grab the kids and whole family and do a little community service project together by helping trim up and weed the MLS campus.
Please bring any hedge trimmers, weeders, rakes, or other tools you have to make the job easier.  Some light refreshments will be provided.
