The Talent Show - This Friday!

The Talent Show is on Friday, March 6th at 6:00PM. There are several ways that you can get involved....

1.      Sign up to bring something for the bake sale -

2.      Help your children to polish up their acts before the Dress Rehearsal on Thursday, March 5th at 6:00PM

3.      Volunteer to help!

4.      Have your children submit their favorite jokes in the joke box at the entrance of the school

5.      Come and Support the acts on March 6th at 6:00PM in the Gym at MLS

Coffee and Conversation with Dr. Irani

Join Dr. Irani and MLS parents for some dazzling conversation and strong coffee on Wednesday, March 10th at 8:15am in the library. A regular opportunity to discuss important topics with our principal is one of the many special things about MLS. Hope to see you there!

Kindergarten Registration

Beginning Monday, March 2, families will be able to register their child online for kindergarten in any of the 16 elementary schools in the Albemarle County Public Schools division.

Parents and guardians can log on to www.k12albemarle.org/kindergarten to begin the registration process for their child. They still will be required to bring a copy of their child's original birth certificate, social security card, immunization records, and two proofs of residency to the school that their child will attend.

In-person kindergarten registration begins on Wed, March 18

Silent Auction - Friday, Mar 20th 6:30pm

**Don't forget to get your raffle tickets for a HOT AIR BALLOON RIDE this week at the Talent Show. Tickets are $10 each. Raffle will be drawn the night of the auction.**

Kids Night Out Help

Kids Night Out is exciting for the kids but probably even more exciting for the parents! Can help the PTO with this event? No - you do not attend the event! No you don't plan the activities for the event! You help by organizing the backpack mail flyer, by keeping track of those who sign up on a spreadsheet, and by communicating with lead teacher Anne Straume. Anne Straume takes it from there and coordinates the teachers, picks the movie, and plans the activities. A great role if you want to be involved and give back but are not able to make it in to volunteer in the classroom. Val Newcomb has been doing this job since she founded KNO with Mrs. Straume. She provided detailed notes so if you are interested in learning more, please let me know and I will send these your way. Thanks for considering! Spring 2015 EZone

Spring session I is winding down! Monday and Tuesday classes have concluded. Wednesday Spanish returns on March 18. The final Thursday classes (CHOICE, Math Monsters, and Theme Thursdays) are to be held on Thursday, March 5. The final Robotics class is to be held this Friday, March 6.

Registration for Spring session II ends this Monday, March 9! Courses begin March 16. To register for session II, please click here: EZ Online Registration.

Girl Geek Days

Girl Geek Day will be at Baker-Butler Elementary School on March 7. This event has become extremely popular, so advance registration is essential. You can register here.

Be reminded that girls 3rd grade or younger must be accompanbied by a parent who remains with the child for all workshops.

YMCA Girls Lacrosse Program
The YMCA Girls Lacrosse Program is attempting to form a K-2 & 3-5 grade team within each Albemarle County School. Practice information will be released at a later time. Please see the flier for more details:
