The Book Fair Starts Today!

Our Love of Books Runs DEEP!

Meet us 20,000 leagues under the sea at this year's Scholastic Book Fair! Returning to Meriwether Lewis on February 24 - 26, the book fair will immerse readers of all ages in an ocean of adventure, mystery, humor, fantasy and fable!

Watch backpack mail later this month for a brochure showcasing many of this year's new books. In the meantime, be sure to save the evening of Wednesday, February 25 for Family Book Fair Night, featuring a pizza dinner starting at 5:30 and story time with a mystery reader at 6:30.

Volunteers are needed to help children with their book selections and purchases. We have a particular need for adult cashiers from 6 - 7:30 on Family Book Fair Night. To learn more about volunteer opportunities, please visit our sign-up page.

Questions? Contact Mary Chinn at marychinn@comcast.net or Jane Jackson at mjjcville@gmail.com.

Box Tops

BOX TOPS

The MLS PTO Box Tops Classroom Contest ENDS TODAY - Wednesday, February 25 (in order to allow for all Box Tops to be counted and mailed in by the March 2 submission deadline).  The class collecting the most Box Tops will be rewarded with a special prize, and all Box Tops turned in will help earn money for our school!  By collecting Box Tops, we have earned more than $1700 for MLS so far this school year!

Box Tops can be placed in the white bin in the MLS front hallway.  Please don't forget to label the Ziploc bag or envelope with your child's name, grade, and classroom teacher.  For those of you counting the Box Tops before you turn them in, it would be extremely helpful if you group them in small Ziploc bags of 50 each (with Bonus Box Tops grouped separately from regular Box Tops).

For participating Box Tops products go to    http://www.boxtops4education.com/participating-products

Grocery stores frequently offer ways to earn Bonus Box Tops.  Sam's Club currently has an opportunity to earn eBoxTops (which count the same as regular Box Tops).
https://generalmills.promo.eprize.com/btfesams/
Make a copy of your submission of any eBoxTops you have earned and credited to Meriwether Lewis Elementary, and place it in the white bin in order for the eBoxTops earned to be counted toward classroom totals.

Any questions please contact Brooke Reid at jandbreid@aol.com .  Thank you and happy collecting!
