Fall Fun Fair: This Friday! 6:00-8:00pm

MLS Fall Fun Fair is THIS FRIDAY, October 17th! Come dunk your teachers and principal in the Dunk Tank! Race through the Bounce House Obstacle Course! Ride a Pony! Play fun carnival games! Buy your game tickets online to avoid the lines, or buy them at the door starting at 5:30pm! Bring cash for great meal options from Dominos ($4) or The Hunt Country Market ($7) or buy items a la carte. Pumpkin Decorating Contest is well under way! Decorate your pumpkins (no carving!) and drop it off at the table in the school foyer to enter your pumpkin to win! Please put your name and teacher on the bottom. Prizes for each student-vote winner in K-1, 2-3, & 4-5 categories.

Annual Fund Update

As Dr. Irani shared in his recent blog post, the 2014-2015 Annual Fund is off to a great start and has already funded the first 2014-2015 strategic priority - purchasing 35 Samsung Galaxy tablets! We look forward to updating you on the impact of this initiative and sharing how our children are using the tablets to connect, create and explore their world! Thanks to the many families who have already donated generously to the campaign.

The Annual Fund is now focused on funding the second strategic priority identified by Dr. Irani and the MLS teaching team - creating a professional development fund to provide the opportunity for every MLS teacher to attend a national conference once every three years. The associated cost is $13,000 per year to initiate and sustain this effort. Budget cuts have nearly wiped out the professional development budget for MLS teachers. Your support helps ensure that our teaching community remains current, cutting-edge and committed!
