MLS PTO
Serving the children, families, teachers, and staff of Meriwether Lewis School.
|
| Thank you MLS families for supporting this year's PTO Bingo Night. The event was well attended, LOTS OF FUN and incredibly successful, raising over $500 for MLS. This would not have been possible without support from the MLS community and help from a fabulous team of volunteers. Thank you to the following staff and parents who volunteered for this year's event: Mrs. Parmelee (definitely the best bingo caller EVER!), Dodie Chavez, Jennifer Billingsly-Gibson, Leigh Myers, Lori Toms, Carey Gibson, & Melissa Hoover. A special thanks to Dawn Cleveland (and her boys) for staying late to help with clean up. We would also like to thank Mr. Fred and the night custodians for help with set up and clean up of the cafeteria, Mr. White for the use of his AV equipment and all the families who provided the awesome Bingo prizes. You can be sure the fun will "CON-TIN-UE" next year! Peggy Williams and Loretta Willis, Bingo Night Co-Chairs |

SOL Testing Dates - Volunteers Needed!
| PARENTS NEEDED! Six parents are needed to monitor halls during the 5th grade SOL testing on the mornings of March 18th and 20th. The parents monitor the halls to keep them quiet and conduct students one at a time to the bathroom as needed. They do not go in with the student, but they make sure that students do not talk to other 5th grade students during testing. It is a low-action job and a good opportunity to catch up on reading or computer work. The volunteers are critical to helping testing to run smoothly. Please sign up here if you are able to help. Mrs. Geraty can answer questions about the process. Mark your calendars for the 2014 SOL testing dates now: 3rd Grade | 4th Grade | 5th Grade | Monday, May 12 Reading | Monday, May 19 Reading | Tuesday, March 18 Writing Test | Tuesday, May 13 Reading | Thursday, May 22 Math | Thursday, March 20 Writing Test | Wednesday, May 14 Science |
