At the Oil and Gas conference in Tashkent, GE and the petrochemical company Uzbekneftegaz signed a memorandum of cooperation in modernization of Uzbekistan's oil-and-gas industry. According to the document, the parties are to cooperate in increasing economic efficiency of industrial plants via utilization of gas pumping units' exhaust gas heat for power production with GE Oregen technologies. The parties also agreed to start an expert education program in GE Oil & Gas University in Florence, Italy.
